Spanish football expert believes Soldado's lack of success is not entirely down to him and that his miserable time at White Hart Lane may be drawing to a close.

Either he gets a run in the team and gets among the goals or we get another striker in January who our coach wants and does well for us

I don't think anyone is going to buy Soldado in January unless he can start scoring goals.

Would be such a shame, he's clearly one of our most intelligent players. But he was bought for goals and he's hardly scored any.

You never know. There are lots of intelligent people out there who can see that there is more to him than goals.
There is but Levy will want a considerable amount of the transfer back. I would be surprised if anyone paid out any more than 5 to 8 million.

Maybe, but not enough to justify his complete lack of goals.

He's clearly a good player and it's a shame it hasn't worked for him, but he's arguably our 4th choice striker at the moment due to his lack of return in front of goal.

Think it will be best for all concerned once he's gone.

You'd seriously put him behind Ade? :cautious:

£20m+ striker who has become allergic to the penalty area, so much so that even his most ardent supporters are now saying he should be played as a No.10...

Of course we might be looking to get rid, its a hell of a turnaround for him to come back from this. He just looks completely shot.

Put him upfront with Kane, drop one of the ineffective three amigo's and you'll get the best out of him and the team.

It's easy really, don't see why Poch doesn't see it.

Gibson's view basically confirms my own: AVB ruined him.

In my eyes he ruined the club and the identity of it.

Strong words but the negative approach started with him and we are still in it's shadow.

It took AVB a season to ruin the positivity that Harry built despite Gareth Bale's best efforts.

Terry Gibson:
“I have seen a change in his playing style. At Valencia he was an 18-yard box player, he was aggressive when he needed to be, he could hold the ball up, he could back into central defenders when it was played up to him and when a cross came into the box, he was on the end of it. And when a goalkeeper spilled a shot, he was snapping up the rebound, anticipating any mistakes or loose balls in the box.

“I thought he was a fantastic signing for Spurs, and I am still hopeful that he is going to be, but I am not sure that he is getting the support from the playing systems that the club have had, and I do not think that he has had the support from the managers either, particularly Andre Villas-Boas"

Only at Spurs do you sign a goal machine for big money, and then play him alone and isolated up front. And then drop him and demoralize him. In the five years leading to his Spurs move, he scored a goal every 1.8 to 1.5 games (on average per season). Last year he got one per 3.3 games.

Give him a run of games with Kane, Poch, and we may get what we paid for.

As much as I like Soldado (one of my favourite strikers before he came to us) and as much as some of the points above make sense we have to consider the fact that maybe he's not cut out for the EPL. Hence why he needs a striker up top with him in this league. Valencia didn't play 4-4-2 but they did have creative players.

Would be great to break that negativity mold and get back some entertainment. I'm hopeful Poch will do it once he's got things how he wants them. Starting with the players

Ade has had more better games for Spurs than Soldado since the latter arrived.

I'm not a fan of Ade at all and my belief is that Soldado is the better player, but I'm not sure we've really seen the evidence of that whilst he's been at Spurs.

But basically they are neck and neck at the end of the queue at the moment.

In part I agree - But the whole truth is the AVB "system" and the same "system" being touted by MoPo have ruined him/not given him a chance.
Same old story - playing our best players in their worst positions.
Play your best players in your best positions and we may stand a chance. Soldado up front on his own, 4-5-bleeding(never works for us) -1 is not the solution for Soldado or indeed most of our players.
I'm hating it and worse than that our over-paid one dimensional, my system worked for me once managers - just don't get it.
Capital DUMB.
