Id take him back if Villareal would pay us the 15 mil we lost on him. Nice fella but probably the worst business we have ever done.

Makes me glad we still gave him a good reception even when he was playing badly and missing sitters, which was kind of rare to be honest as football fans can turn on players so quickly after consecutive poor performances and I think he appreciated that we did almost the opposite in fact.

I think if he came now under the system we are playing with Poch he would have had a longer Spurs career but when he came we were playing a way that I personally think isolated a lone striker too much. It's completely different now with us having Alli directly behind and Lamela+Eriksen also coming inside to provide through the middle. I think the front 4 is a lot more gelled, creative and fluid now that's for sure.

Imagine Soldado on the pitch this season the way Spurs have been playing. We had Soldado without the service in the box, now we have all the service in the world reaching the inside of the box, but no Soldado.

I think Bentley is. Cost £15m and lost him 5 years later on free. If his £50k a week salary was accurate then he cost an additional £12.5m in wages minus whatever we recouped from his loan spells.

Stop torturing yourselves folks.
He simply wasn't suited to the premier league and never would have been.

If he played for us now the only place I'd have him is in the 3 and only when we're 3 0 up

Would have been interesting. To start with he was always making little runs and finding space but behind him the ball would go from side to side to side to side. He never got a through ball to get onto or a ball into space. No striker is going to thrive in those conditions and he eventually gave up trying to even find space.

He got 1 in 7 for us and is now getting 1 in 5 for Villereal.. Maybe his head still isn't right??
If you read the article you would have seen that his role is mainly creative now- Bakambu does the goal scoring.

In the sun today it's says soldado has scored 8 in 41 games for villarreal. So why r people wanting him still to be here? He flopped big time for us and ain't doing too good now

Whenever i watched him at the Lane he was stood in the D and not doing much.
I also saw him served chances on a plate and he failed miserably so wipe your eyes folks.
For us he was shite.
And for Villereal he's average.

ya, thought about Bentley. one of the two. and you've got to consider their contribution in assessing value and for both there wasnt much, but I recall Bentley chipping in a goal or two that spring we qualified for the CL.
