Correct me if I am wrong please:
Soldado is Spains 5th choice striker? Behind Torres, Villa, Negredo and Llorente. What other national side would have a striker that we are happy to spunk £25m on? Is he really 'World Class' if he is behind Torres in the Spanish ranks?

I've seen little of him, but his stats are impressive. I just wonder if many on here are overhyping him?

Well it couldn't really be more clear. We pay what they want or get fucked.

I also get the impression they want Soldado to hand in a transfer request to self themselves money and stop them looking the bad ones. The chairman has mentioned that Soldados agent was the one pushing the deal - make them look the innocent party

The significant part in this ITK, for me anyway, is that Baldini has done his part with the player and his agent. Hence why he's left the scene.

Levy junior etc still there...over to the money men etc.

This was my feeling all along tbh. He has done his bit and the rest is out of his hands. A good sign imo.

Valencia are now up the proverbial creek without a paddle financially now and they weren't when those deals were done.

They've been up that creek for a few years now, ever since 2008. What they've tried to do is keep to selling only one major player a year.

He isn't 5th choice, he's pretty much first choice now.

Valencia need money. Soldado is their most valuable asset but if we actually pay them £26m+ they'd be fools not to accept.

Depends how you define world-class. He wouldn't be if you ask me (have top be top 5 in your position in the world) but he would be under the very good player criteria that lots of people use.

Spain also play a very specific death by a thousand tiny cuts system so not every striker can play it. They look best with Fabregas a s striker IMO. He looks to be much more direct than modern Torres so may not work as well in their system.

Agree to some extent. But if you turn it around. 26 is close to the 30 million release clause, and they would be fools to not try and get the 30. If the tables were turned I'd agree with the stance of our Directors for taking that line.

Don't think the Valencia President got that memo.

"We never wanted to sell Soldado, either €30m is paid, or he will stay here. We were very clear with Franco Baldini yesterday 30 million and in the payment terms we want. Until the 3rd of Aug we are willing to listen. After that we'll hear no one."

Aye, might have been a bit foolish on our part to start so high. Closer to 22me would have been better, with the 8me in add-ons.

For what it's worth I think we'll get this done. Though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed we didn't spend this kind of money on Llorente 2 or 3 years back.

Sid Lowe said this on ESPN last night, the 30M tag really is to appease the Valencia fans.
