People really have short term memories around here.

I vividly remember during the season before last moments where Robbo would be sweeping up our "defensive" errors.
When Daws was left caught short, Robbo would come steaming out of his area and put the ball into Row Z.
A few seasons ago, he used to not only command his area, but he commanded (at times) the whole defensive half. For many games he was almost like a 5th defender.

It's definitely a confidence thing.

Bottom line, Robinson's not good enough.

Agreed. If we were a team battling relegation or even a team associated with mid-table mediocrity, then Robinson wouldn't be a bad keeper to have. But the fact that expectations are so high at Tottenham, even more so now we have won a cup and want to be challenging for more, then it's clear for all to see that Robinson needs to be upgraded. The foundations of success are based around a solid defense and clean sheets, just look at Man Utd and Chelsea. Even when they don't play well they can sneak a goal and feel very confident about keeping out the other team for a 1-0 win. This isn't the case with Spurs, as every game you'll expect the opposition to have a few good opportunities to score. We have gradually improved under Ramos but we need to improve further if we are to be considered a solid team, and the replacement of Robinson underlines our ambition for improvement.
