On any other day that would've been a stellar result - how they didn't score i will never know, they outclassed Germany for a lot of that match.
Loved the fact that, when Schweinstiger and Kilbane clashed heads, Schweinstiger has to go off to the dressing room and eventually subbed, because of a cut in his hairline, Kilbane doesn't - he has two stiches in his eyelid, sat in the dugout, then comes back on
Lets hope a few other results will go their way and the Czech's slip up...
Yeah, Robbie should really have put away the one-on-one. It's weird, because being able to lob from that far out is usually what Robbie does best. That and volleys. Having seen a again a few times, his reaction suggests he thought he was offside.
The only thing Ireland should be upset about is the fact they didn't score - they had about 4 chances that could've been goals, 2 to Robbie who, both times, appeared to think he was offside and was in two minds, which is a bit odd as Keano is one of the few players on our side who usually plays to the whistle
anyways, not mathematically impossible to qualify - if they can pull themselves together for the Cyprus match, play like they did against Germany but put a few past them (unlike Wales who just rolled over for them), and the Czech's slip up somewhere along the way then there's a very good chance they can claw that second spot back
It's all but over for Ireland , unless the Czechs fail to get a point from their remaining three matches against Germany,Slovakia & Cyprus.Seems highly unlikely.
