as a Spurs fan that started going to the lane in 73/74 my true idol of that time was the great Pat Jennings.

This Sunday at 06:00am I will be picking him up from his home and taking him to St George's Park 130 miles with the great man in my taxi, I feel like a little kid with Xmas only being a few days away

The job is an account job, glad I haven't got to charge him directly, the company it's going through will be getting a bill of over £300 so if the man doesn't chuck me a tip I'll not be too unhappy.

The question is what Spurs shirt do I get him to sign. Wished the scarf my sister bought me on my 1st match was the right material to get it, though the white isn't so white now days. I was told to never wash it, though do believe in it's 44yrs it might of been washed twice mistakenly:D

You should get a few shirts with Lemar, Sessegnon, Mbappe & Pereira (did I forget anyone else ?) printed on the back and ask big Pat to sign (endorse) them. :)

I wouldn't get a shirt signed, i would ask him to sign a picture, scarf or something else - yes, a shirt might be worth more financially in the future, but for a keepsake i prefer to be able to wear my shirts. Unless you buy a replica or a new shirt specifically to be signed, i'd not risk it. My luck i'd end up bundling it in with a hangover wash one Sunday.

Maybe get a nice pic of White Hart Lane for him to sign? Then you could keep it safe and maybe get other sigs from legends as you meet them?

I know the gooner your talking about Clarky he doesn't have an account with the company I do work for. Thanks to his departed brother, he is one of the reasons I can't visit Spurs so often, after he attacked me, my mobility has gone downhill, though Trev's a good old boy even if he is the enemy in red

With all the latest ITK do I interrogate the legend:rolleyes:

Nah better not, he ain't too happy I'm picking him up at 6am as it is (spoke with him on the phone yesterday), especially when he thought he wasn't going to be needed so wouldn't of been ready if I hadn't asked for the security code to get in.

Yep got him there about 08:40 no juicy gossip though he hears the same as us.

The only downside of the journey was him telling me

1, the way the board treated him the day he left, totally ignored him and never had the decency to thank him for his services (whether that would of been different if he had gone to Ipswich instead of Arsenal no one knows)

2, that he knew quite away through the season he was going to be et go, Burkenshaw told him he was going to be let go, as he felt his career was coming to an end.

And last of all and quite gutted to hear, Arsenal treated him better as a person in his 8 seasons compared to his 13 with us.

Just told my old man this, who was born in 50 so was around during big pats reign, he's genuinely surprised about point 2, always thought it was pat that wanted out rather than the club letting him go.

That's what they told everyone apparently, he never said it but perhaps after being told your not wanted the season after winning the PFA player of the year, perhaps he then wanted out

Nice one mate. Sounds like a good time was had.

yep a nice easy run, i never took a shirt to sign in the end and within minutes of getting in the car he handed me his signature to me on a card i'll be able to get framed which had pictures of some moments in the Spurs keepers jersey.

if i knew how to bloody post pictures on here I'd post the picture someone took of us shaking hands (or my hand getting lost) and what the signature came on
