    Russian staying in north London....

Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent Oleg Artemov has given some clarification on the Russian international's future after the striker had been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur.

Artemov told Soviet sport: "Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is not going to let Roman leave the team, he is necessary for Harry Redknapp."

With Tottenham about to make their debut in the Champions League it would seem Redknapp wants as many options up front as possible and Pavlyuchenko does not want to miss the opportunity.

"Roman himself does not want to leave England, but if that does happen he will return to a Russian club.

"We have noted that information appeared regarding the possible departure of the striker. Among contenders were Sporting Lisbon and Spartak Moscow. I did not see any movement from Spartacus [Spartak], there were no specifics.

"Interest from both Zenit and Lokomotiv, as was reported in Britain, was nothing," Atremov said.

How many agents does he have?

Thomas Zorn said the other day he was moving to Portugal and now Oleg Atremov says he isn't?

Atremov seems more on the ball though it must be said.

Personally, I hope he stays, he has his faults, but IMO his contribution to the end of last season shows his worth to the team.

Having watched the entirety of the 2-1 Arsenal game again yesterday, Pav worked very hard, had some good link up play and got in some good goal scoring positions. Yes, he still needs to show a bit more, but I predict this to be Pav's year to shine. Hopefully he's settled, he knows he needs to be a bit more physical, and he knows he can do it when he really applies himself.

I've been one of his critics throughout his time with us, but I think in champions league he will shine, his style is very much suited to the style if european competition

This a new game called transfer assertion tennis, it might well catch on.
Agent claims Pavlyuchenko leaving for Portugal.
Player denies all knowledge of it.
Second agent, possibly KGB not football, claims he is staying.
    That's 30/15 Roman.
    Care to play?
