The media have a bit to answer for with stories like this don't they. He's a 21yo kid who probably isn't the smartest cookie and they know what this is going to sound like.

They don't print the questions or how they were asked that prompted him to say what he said. And most players would want to play for a top club wouldn't they.

does it matter how the question was asked? he said he wants to get back playing for a top club, that's incredibly disrespectful to everton.

Is it though,or is it just honesty? They aren't going to challenge for the league any time soon and surely most players Want to join a club where they can win something? Look at Bale. I doubt many Tottenham fans thought he would stay with us for the rest of his career because most of us could see that he was going to join a top club at some point.

well it's both. we can look at bale but i don't recall him publicly saying he wants to leave spurs for a top club, probably because he has an ounce of decency.

I don't know if it's a problem with decency or if some players are just better at the media game than others. It was a stupid thing to say though, but I'm never surprised when players want to join clubs like Real,Barcelona, or Bayern.

It matters in as much as journalists can be a bit cute, know they've got a 21yo who might not be the smartest cookie and ask something like "how did you feel about leaving Chelsea and would you like to play for a big club again in the future?" knowing they've bristled his pride a bit and got a reaction. They then just print the reaction and it sounds like unsolicited self-bigging of a player not exactly doing the business for his mid table team.

Yes it's tactless, and none of us like to hear it about our club, but those same fans that are acting all precious about it would be booing and slating (or they would at Spurs) him if he was having a rough time or would happily phone in 606 telling the whole world what a **** he is and how their club needs an upgrade.

Personally that shit doesn't bother me too much, within reason. Some young kid saying he dreams of playing for a bigger club than us isn't earth shattering, as long as he puts a shift in while he's here.

New agent, 10x the grief!

http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ould-not-have-joined-everton-says-mino-raiola

"If we had met each other earlier, he wouldn’t have played for Everton," Raiola is quoted as telling the paper in an interview.

"We will see what happens in the summer, but the Everton directors don’t have to think Rom will play there for the rest of his career."

Raiola is one of those agents who comes across as literally the spawn of Satan.

Raiola is such a virus to football. So sick of these kind of agents

Try playing well at Everton and you might get a move, the sense of entitlement is exactly what will stop Lukaku from being a top player.

Reading the comments section it seems most Everton fans would be glad to see him go if they can get somewhere near what they paid for him.
