Came across this and thought it was interesting. Still got a lot of his game to develop but he could grow (not literally) into a World Class player.

To think he is only 2 months older than Harry Kane.

Mysteriously missing when it comes to us though!

Chill, we already have a squad of fantastic players, I'm glad Poch is looking at the players we already have at the club, ending the revolving door policy that we have seen over the last 5-6 years might actually lead to the squad living up to their potential.

£28 million is a lot of money. Crazy for Everton really. He's a good player and may continue his form at Everton, but it is an expensive gamble.

I don't care much for the Soldado/Lukaku debates in terms of price and ability. What I do think, however, is that Lukaku would've cost us more than £28 million. I've got a feeling Chelsea would either not entertain us or provide us with a higher premium.

I work with Everton fans and I said the same today, Lukaku wanted to go there but I agree with you. I don't think he'd have been made available to us from Chelsea. Could be a very good signing for them but if he does well there he will leave in 2 seasons to a bigger club.

Overpriced but fair play to Everton for having a go.
Shows what £28m buys you these days; not even a good first touch apparently.

You have to take into account that 8 of those apps were late sub appearances for Chelsea.
Ok sure but all players are substitutes in some games.

In any case, I judge with my eyes. I would rather have a classy, technical footballer up front than a battering ram. No point other than that, I totally agree that Lukaku is a good goalscorer.

I definitely agree with you, right now currently I wouldn't have him as our striker but he has the potential to grow into a monster of a player.

Labelling Lukaku as a battering ram is so lazy. I just think back to that goal he scored against Arsenal, coming in off the right wing.

Yeah, I'm sure 'technical' Soldado could've done that. Oh no, wait, 'technical' Soldado doesn't score unless it's put on a plate for him, or in some cases he doesn't even score then!

I can't get my head around people saying they'd rather have fucking soldado.
He's at the end of his career and struggled badly last season. This kid is at the start of his career and Looks an absolute weapon.
We'd never have signed him because Chelsea wouldn't have sold to us, but make no mistake, we'll struggle to keep ground with Everton at this rate now. I hoped they wouldn't be able to afford him.

Of all the "realistic" targets that got away, Lukaku is the only one I am a but gutted about.
However, as pointed out, I also doubt Chelski would have agreed to sell him to Spurs at the price Everton got him for. Besides, Lukaku seem to really fancy Martinez and the fact that he felt settled at Everton.

Agreed that Chelsea wouldn't sell to us (it was me previously) but with regard to him liking Everton, the same could have been said about siggy and Swansea after his loan. He shunned them, and his former manager at Liverpool for spurs.
Insignificant anyway, I doubt Chelsea would sell us a virus after Modric.

Jose claims he was not "motivated" but with Chelski buying Diego Costa - on top of Torres, Schurrle, Drogba - not being "motivated" may not be the right term exactly...
He's still young and is keen on playing regular 1st team footy, so he can improve as a player and enjoy looking forward to match days.
However, I think he'll miss the services provided by Deulofeu.
