1502_Ronaldo_before_after_j.jpg

Last September we reported that football legend Ronaldo was to appear on a Brazilian version of Celebrity Fit Club in a bid to get back into shape.

The above photo is the before and after impact that show has had on the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan striker.

The ex-goal machine had ballooned in size after retiring in 2011 but with the help of the "Fantástico" television show he is now looking better than he ever did while playing.
Ronaldo said he agreed to deal with his weight issue on television as the extra pressure would keep him motivated.

"I'm enjoying participating in the program, because it is an incentive for me to lose weight," thethree time FIFA World Footballer of the Year told iG Gente just before the first episode aired.
"Maybe if I didn't have the pressure of everybody watching me trying to lose weight then I wouldn't be able to do it.

"All I can say is that I will work hard, be persistent and not give up until I reach my recommended weight."
"I want people to be inspired by me."

Consider us impressed - we're off to join a gym!

AVB sign him up!

He looked jollier with the weight, to be honest.
Definitely, they've got their before/after photo all messed up. Before it should be black and white, and he should look depressed, and after he should be smiling and colourful. This is all kinds of fucked up.

I would not say no. He was still scoring a fair amount of goals in his last few seasons

Never gonna happen though

He was amazing until the knee injury. Unstoppable.

Now he's into sports marketing and going to university

It would be easy to just do nothing and get fat (again), drink and party.. good for him.
He was incredible afterwards too. The 2002 World Cup was all about him and he was sensational for Real Madrid. Truly one of the greatest.

I'm glad. This guy was phenomenally talented and he remained on a high level longer than a lot of big names.

Nice of him to get into shape when his playing career is finished. He's a legendary player to me but I don't get why he didn't put this kind of work in five years ago.

That's the one ;)

Who's the better player? Ronaldo when he wasn't a teletubby, or Cristy?

I wouldn't like to say. Just be thankful that Tottenham never had to play a team with both of them in the same side.

He'd won more than most other people could ever dream of so I doubt he cared much at the end what he looked like. In any case as the fat bastard he was he was still one of the best strikers in the world.

In any case as the fat bastard he was he was still one of the best strikers in the world and if he had been spared the injuries a very strong case would have been made for him to be regarded as the greatest.
