Feel sorry for Davies. Total pro, doesnt cry to the media, gets on with his game and is a solid left back. I'd be pissed off if I was then benched again for someone who is not committed to the team, is very disrespectful, lacking in professionalism and likes to air his dirty laundry to anyone that will listen to him.

nop, from our perspective maybe... sounds logic. But we don't know what and how the club is run, we can only guess and estimate; I wouldn't worry about it

Davies is likely to be relaxed. He knows the manager likes to rotate the full backs regularly and I would still expect him to play more than Rose.

The time to feel sorry for Davies was a couple of years ago when he was hardly in the team and every time he played people regularly said he shouldn't lace Rose's boots. Now he is first choice having proved himself a very competent player. I'd say he is happy to have solid backup as he has always put the team first.

I hope Rose stays, we need to have competition and rotation between him and Davies for LB position. Do we have any ITK relating to if any of our players might be sold abroad before their transfer window closes? Given our lack of incomings this summer it would be a bitter blow to lose any of our squad, unless they're players we are actually trying to move on

To be fair to Rose he has been battling depression, and having to constantly fight against it myself I know it can sometimes make you very unreasonable to not thinking straight in what you’re saying

If he was in a particular dark place when he had that infamous interview then I can understand why he did it tbh.

Rose is a top top left back and even though I agree Davies has been a fantastic professional and has improved leaps and bounds over last two seasons, I would still personally prefer a happy and focussed Rose at left back for that extra dimension he gives us.

With Trippier and Davies at full back, even though both good players I worry we lose that penetration that Walker / Rose gave us so would prefer to see combo of KWP / Davies or Trippier / Rose so we have different types of full back on both sides.

Squad rotation is more important especially this season with no new signings, they will both get game time.

We all (99.9%?) have little knowledge of what really goes on behind the scenes at our club. IF rumours are true Toby was beyond a pain in the ass to Poch and co last season. IF Poch is happy to give him and Danny another chance then I'm delighted. Two seasons ago our defence was the meanest we'd had in decades.
Squad not massive , 38 Prem and hopefully 20+ games in the CL, FAC & CC means having TWO top quality players in each position is vital if we are finally to win something. I'm far more worried about zero real cover for Kane.
An in-form Rose AND Davies through a long season will be perfect.
Welcome back Danny is what I say.

Poised? I think we deserve a little more commitment than that.

The thing is Rose scares the crap out of opposition full backs. Davies, while he's been fantastic, does not.
Take the game against Man U. Despite not having a very good game Rose was the reason Valencia was quiet all game and not bombing forward. He couldnt risk Rose skinning him and getting in behind him.
He is still imo the best lb in the premier league.
If he stays, which looks most likely now, we will have a far better season because of it.
Poch will help him get his head sorted.
As a side note when players have issues like Rose which I'm sure a lot do it worries me what kind of an agent they have. Some prick who is looking to line his own pockets and has no interest in your well being would be a disaster.

Mendy is better than him.
