Not sure I agree about Pep.
Based on what?
His answer is spend a shitload of cash wherever he's been.
Dont like goalkeeper. Buy a new one. Oh he's shit. Buy a new one. Full backs shit. Who's best in league. Go buy him.

Yay we won the league, I'm a great coach. Only cost 300m :)

Yeah right.

Lol. When you put it like that.... It's the way that he coaches the team as a whole. Gets the players linking in and the best from them, like Debren'.....Kevin etc. He may spend big big bucks, but he still improves what he buys.

Bit like if you have a used Renault 5 you race, and can fit your own turbo. But then someone comes along and says you are the best boy racer / mechanic ever and funds you. You go buy a proper Renault turbo with luminescent lights under the chassis. Then find a way to make.it better. By adding your own suspension etc. I want lights under my toyota now. Always wanted them as a kid. Stupid chavvy things. But yeah, pep. Lights under the car.

I wonder if it'll impact their ability to sign now it's more obvious? Toxicity starts at the top of any organisation and weeds it's way down.

Hopefully players are starting to think longevity of career. Short term money vs long term career and will avoid that hole of a club.

It already has. Llorente turned them down to come to us. A few other players turned them down last summer and possibly more importantly their youth players have started to leave because they aren't getting opportunities.

Actually Pep does coach players to get better, it's obvious.
Is that because of him or because top class players are playing with top class players?
If you've played at any level you'll know better players make everyone step up their game.
Im not saying he is a bad coach but its hard to agree he's a good or even a great coach when he is playing FIFA.
Like Zidane, is he a great coach?
I very much doubt if either of them could do what Rafa has done at Newcastle or what Poch has done with us.

Anyway, Ross Barkley lol.

Anway, Ross Barkley lol.

So you can say the same about Spurs then, Rose, Son, Dier are all getting better because they're playing with Kane, Alli and Eriksen and co, argument doesn't make much sense does it.

Wherever Pep has gone he's improved players and got the max out of them, obviously the money has helped him win countless titles but it's obvious to anyone that players improve under his tutelage, same for Poch albeit Poch has done it on a much smaller budget.

Absolutely. Ever since Mourinho arrived at United all he's talked about is the need for more and better players as opposed to getting the most out of what he's got. Look at the some of squads that Fergie had in the last few years especially, some of them had not a lot special about them at all but he got the most that he possibly could out of them whereas the answer for Mourinho is always more money, must have more world class players, we don't have enough etc.

Possibly the best of example of that is his winning of the PL title in his last season as a manager with a very average (Being polite) squad. remarkable achievement.

Yes you could say that about us and yes it does make sense.
Its not getting the best out of players when you rate someone, buy them, it doesnt wprk so you just go buy another one. He just keeps buying until he inevitably gets it right.
One thing I will say for Pep, at least he gets his teams actually trying to play exciting attacking football unlike a certain other cretin who spends hundreds of millions to serve up utter shite.

Yeah Maureen I'm looking at you.

Just thinking about this again. Good for a laugh. Looks like Barkley found his level - mid-table squad, occasionally playing in Europa...

Of course he could have had that at Everton too....

Maybe but he does now have a Fa Cup winners medal which is something he wouldn’t have gotten at Everton

Every time this thread moves I have a look expecting to see he has had to retire because of injury. I don’t wish him any harm but his injury has been dragging on.

He'll be one of those players where in 5 or 6 years' time people will suddenly remember he existed and google him to see what he's up to these days only to find he's playing for some random Danish second division team while Chelsea are still paying 90% of his wages.

Jody Morris? I honestly have no idea what happened to him, I just remember him being sung up as the next superhero player, only to end up getting caught up in a ton of controversy and then just vanished.
