One of the most overrated players in the league. Scored a few great goals at 18 and everyone started speaking about him in the same breath as Gazza.

It's this myth that's built around young players. This assumption that because they're Prem level at a young age they're automatically going to improve year on year and become Zidane level. When in reality very few footballers actually improve dramatically. He's just a mid premier league level player and that's all he'll be.

I'd be as disappointed spending this much on him as Sissoko.

No thanks. I wanna see us buy someone tearing it up week after week, affecting and winning games. Not someone struggling to get in a poor Everton team.

The passage of play last night when he did so well to get past two defenders and storm into the box, only to try to beat Cech at the near post instead of crossing when he had two teammates against one (out of position) defender sums him up perfectly for me.

If we give the Sissoko and cash, it would make sense.

I think there's talent there and Poch could improve him.

They wanted Sissoko in the summer and he's probably gone down in value although I'd be tempted to sell him to a Chinese club for £50m as they're paying silly money and I'm sure he would go there for more wages.

Another example of an overpriced English talent who has failed to live up to his early hype. No way should we be considering spending anywhere near 35m on this fella. He has clearly lost his way at Everton and can't see that he would fair any better in a better squad down in the big smoke.

He's the sort of player whose style naturally appeals to Spurs fans, but he's not what we need.
Agreed. On his day very exciting, but runs into blind alleys mostly, and drifts out of games mostly. It would be funny though, just to watch @Bus-Conductor splattering his head on his keyboard in anger at another head down, ignore the pass, shift and shoot type of player.

A good player but we already have our genius yet wildly inconsistent player in Eriksen.

Plus would be concerned would get in way of Edwards development as Barkley is also quite young so would be a long term signing.

Hell no, another no.10 is not what we need
I'd argue another intelligent no.10 is exactly what we need. Don't think Barkley fits into that category at this moment in time.
