Great Comments from salty everton fans:

//I was all for not letting him near Goodison again, but I have just seen someone come up with a great idea. Once he has recovered from injury, name him as a sub for every home game until the end of the season with no intention of using him but just make him do a lot of warming up!//

//Don't let him train with any team. He can just run laps for the next year.
No access to any of the equipment at Finch Farm and no professional trainers to sort his diet.
He'll be a fat mess by this time next year//

Idiots

Wouldn't such action as suggested in the second part constitute constructive dismissal and enable him just to walk away from Everton ?

It hasn't occurred to that bloke that Everton football club aren't the only people in the country with gym facilities and dietary expertise?
They really ought to turn their anger on the club who have taken him for granted for the last few years, could have sold him and recouped some money and then thought they could force him against his will to go where he didn't want to when he apparently only has five months of football before he is free to choose himself.
I genuinely thought we were dealing with grown ups but they proved me wrong, £45mil for Siggy good grief!

Can Barkley not buy out the remainder of his contract in January? Thus becoming a free agent. Or is this too simplistic.

What prevents this from being done?

He won't sit out January as he wants a chance to go to the WC. Everton, as much as they bark, will want to get some dollars, opposed to zero. They kmow with absolutele certainty that he won't be bullied going to the highest bidding club. They know he wants us!

Common sense conclusion; they had more power in the just closed window, but not much with just under 6 months left on his contract in January.

If Everton had been realistic in the transfer fee they wanted this could have all been avoided. They got greedy and will now pay the price.

It could get very messy if they try to freeze him out.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Well hopefully we can get him early in jan, longer he is left in limbo more chance he might move elsewhere.

In their defence, this board (myself included) wasn't any better after the Danny Rose interview.
That was a bit different.
I think Barkley has been totally fair to Everton, he's spent a long time there and now he feels he needs to move on to a club of his choice- after all, it's his life. People on here were generally fairly relaxed about Walker going for a similar reason. At the end of the day footballers aren't slaves, to be sold against their will.

So with everything that's happened what realistically would the fee be for him in January?

Could be as low as 15m if he refuses to go to anyone else. I'm not even sure we put a concrete bid in last window knowing the situation and in light of his injury. All the ITK was very confident about him wanting to join us.

They were fair up until the point where Koeman publicly stated that Barkley wasn't wanted and wouldn't play. They really painted themselves into a corner and I don't blame Barkley for being a hard ass about who he's prepared to sign for.

What's our net spend at this point?

I imagine that this will be a big factor in determining what we would pay for him in January. That - and what could be raised by player sale(s).

And someone's nose just grew another length lol:eek:

Was a lie detector used in his statement? Not:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Sounds like he done his medical with us, hoping to push through Transfer. Going down to London to Chelsea was always bullshit. He was coming to us
