why even bother, seriously? More show? They're never dealing with us, unless Toby or someone more precious goes the other way.

Total non-starter, at least for 2 years...

Prediction: gets more bench and cup time next season, then gets sold to an Everton, then it goes either way- injury free, he could get a big move or more injuries and that will be his level

Now this is a transfer rumour I can like. Had a really good season at Palace and that got him in the England squad. No chance that Chelsea wanna do business with us

Chelsea will absolutely not want to negotiate with us - so the only way I can see this happening is if it's deadline day he still hasn't got his move elsewhere leaving, Chelsea no choice but to sell him to us.

Even then, I don't see that scenario occurring, there will be a lot of clubs looking to take him...

I like your optimism.

Maybe so, but he probably wants out and we will be one of he’s first choices I reckon
Where he will get game time and improve further.
Hopefully he’ll kick up a fuss but I can’t see it.

Not sure if it matters if we're his first choice...
Think he has more chance of ending up at Arsenal than us - hope I'm wrong, just can't see Chelsea dealing.

Me too, if Chelsea are having financial problems maybe they will stupidly sell.

Maybe the thought of CL will appeal to him? (y)

My observation of him is that he is a strong and physical player , aswell as his skills - more so than Onamah and maybe even Winks.

The they won’t sell to us comment isn’t exactly true. They sold us cudicini and gallas (or that might have been a free transfer). We don’t sell to them though, that’s true.

I can’t see it happening but you never know.

Wouldn’t he have the same problem with us though if he wants the game time. He’s an attacking midfielder and would be fighting our usual three for a place in the team.

As I said in the transfer thread. It all depends how hands on Roman is still. Seems to have taken a step back. If so then we may have a chance as their negotiators are probably less likely to hold a grudge...

Cudicini was free. Gallas was released by Arsenal. The last player we bought from Chelsea was Poyet in 2001. Before Roman arrived.

I'd rather flog Toby to Chelsea than UTD if RLC comes this way.
UTD are more of a threat than Chelsea currently.

Financials aside- selling us a young English prospect because he wants to go to a rival club would be the death-knel in the way they, and others, perceive themselves. They might as well erect a large banner outside their pissy ground stating, ‘WE’RE SHITTER THAN TOTTENHAM NOW’. They’re not ready for that type of admission. Yet

RLC is a strange one to be linked with given that there is more chance of John Terry being appointed as a 'Kick It Out' ambassador than Chelsea being willing to sell a player to us.
