Winks and Onomah are completely different players than RLC. The intriguing thing about RLC is his size and strength.

Winks is a different kind of player, but a better CM than RLC already.

Those who watched Onomah in youth football, as a dynamic CM, know he's quite similar to RLC, and potentially better.

Crucially, neither HW nor Josh would cost the club north of £40 million which chavski could then spend on other players.

I'm going to take a wild punt and say this is the midfielder that rebrab mentioned in the ITK thread earlier.

Been linked with Everton and Palace this week, but reckon we're still interested especially after Chelsea signed Jorginho :peeking:

I'm thinking the same. We will soon see.

You have to feel bad for the guy. He’s clearly a talent with immense upside. Yet Chelsea keep on overlooking him. I’d desperately want out if I were him. I sincerely hope it’s us in for him as I think he’d be the right sort of replacement for Dembele.

I think if this is the mystery player then it confirms that Abramovich really has taken a back seat.

Can't see it.

I may be wrong but the last player to transfer from Chelsea to Spurs was Jason Cundy, in 1992, 26 years ago.
Chelsea and Spurs just don't do business together so it would be an absolute shock if RLC joined us.

David Luiz is out of favour there and Gary Cahill isn't getting any younger. There's a certain defender on our books that wants out that could be used in a swap deal + money if we really want RLC and need leverage to negotiate with them (not that I want to see Toby in blue, just saying it's a possibility we could explore, that's all)

I like RLC mate, think the kid has it all to be a top top player but I just can't see any transfer happening between the two clubs.

Just can't see Chelsea selling to us. Plus with their new manager, I'm sure he'll be telling all the players there is a clean slate. Shame as I think Poch could work wonders with him.

He's competing with the likes of Kante, Bakayoko, Jorginho, Barkley & Fabregas for one of those midfield positions, as well as anyone else Sarri might bring in (not going to count Drinkwater though as he's pony)

Whatever happens to him, it'll be good to see if he's able to reach his potential

Think RLC will leave Chelsea but I think they'd take a lower fee elsewhere rather than sell to us.

They're in for Golovin as well. A central midfield of Kante, Jorginho, Bakayoko, Golovin, Fabregas, Barkley & Drinkwater for Loftus-Cheek to compete with.

The kid hasn't got a chance there. No wonder a lot of English kids are going abroad to cut their teeth in the big time

I believe Sarri said earlier this week that he was bored with the transfer market and would be looking to bring youngsters from the academy through, something along those lines anyway. Roman has obviously changed tac.

He'd soon change his tune when he realises it'll take a few years to see any kind of real progress with kids coming through.

If that's the case, I can't see Chelsea competing seriously for a while, although I doubt he'll follow through with it as I can't see players like Rudiger, Christensen, all of their midfield etc being ousted by their youth. Time will tell I guess

I really can't see a deal being done between the two clubs. Far to much water under the bridge
