Yeah I think it was fair enough to give the try, hands were going backwards... In Rugby League you would have the 'momentum rule' that covers a situation a situation like that... Not sure about Union but for me it was fine.

I think Australia deserved to win at the end of the day. Wales were fortunate that they were gifted the opening try and that Australia's indiscipline and wasting opportunities kept them in touch and set up a frantic final 15-20 mins. North was the only danger where as 'Straya, although Cooper ran the show, got most of their players involved in the backline. What did Cuthbert do for example?

Oh yeah, Australia should have been out of sight, but at least that was their own fault. But with the line on the pitch it was obvious the ball went forward.

The ball is allowed to go forwards so long as the hands passing it propel if backwards from the passer (or at worst flat). Forward momentum can take it forwards after that, and often does, but that's not a forward pass in the rules, it's just physics.

Overall I thought that was the best game Australia have played in a while, but then they were allowed to run an open game. Very entertaining though.

Wade's chances of making the WC squad look bleak now.

The Platoon style injury list of backs grows ever longer. We'll end up with Jamie Noon again at this rate. *shudder*

Yeah ridiculous injury list, things look pretty fucked for the 6 nations.

Edit: Back to Brown-Ashton-Goode I bet. Oh yay.

Goode at FB. What could possibly go wrong? :bag: Mercifully Brown will likely play there, shunting Goode elsewhere. Small mercies.

With available players right now (presuming Barritt is back), I would go:

11. May
12. Twelvetrees
13. Barritt
14. Ashton - by default unfortunately. Unless anyone has a stormer between now and February.
15. Brown

And Daly covers Centre, Wing, Fullback from the bench.

No sense in making wholesale changes and giving debuts all round.

Yeah, I'd go with that. The Strettle is always lurking as well as cover if things go nuclear.

Rather Monye than either Ashton or Strettle! I'm being serious too.

The injury list is a right bastard. Hopefully Daly and May are given a proper chance providing they are not injured come six nations time of course!

I'd rather none of the established three in all truth. Monye is also currently broken I think.

Daly and May are my preferred two, versatile and offer attacking threat whilst being dependable. I think Trinder and Burrell are going to be in and around the squad too, but what I have seen of them I think they are both prone to being turnstiles in defence, which has to be considered. As for others Watson has good gas and seems to be rated highly, that kid at Exeter (Nowall?) is a good player too but isn't as quick, more of a 'Mike Brown' and we really need a couple of flyers out on each wing.

We have options, time is running out to blood them before a world cup though..

As mpick has pointed out, Monye also has a strained labia at the mo. We've been bloody machine gunned.

So, the annual question has to be asked. Scotland or Italy for the wooden spoon this yr?

So Wales to be the first team to win 3 consecutive 6 nations?

I hope so. However, I just read today that France have won it the last four times it's followed a Lions tour. Could be coincidence but I reckon there's a lot more to it than that. Of course, there's always the question of which France team will show up this year...
