John O'Neill is at it again. He wants rugby union rules altered to encourage a more attacking game, in other words make it more like rugby league. Experimental laws have been introduced in Australia because O'Neill wants to create a more appealing game for the spectators.

Sorry but that is rubbish. I find it strange that the two main things O'Neill wants changed is the importance of kicking and scrums - it couldn't be because when it comes down it the Aussies aren't that good at either.

If anything O'Neill has set Australian rugby back by introducing these experimental laws because the IRB, RFU, SFU, etc., aren't going to say anytime soon that the rules should be changed, so the Aussies are going to be playing by a set of rules that no one else plays. Does he seriously think the RFU are stupid enough to agree to this? Whilst we are at it why don't FIFA ban all attractive football and only allow route one football? Bolton will like that.

Variety is what makes rugby union great. If I wanted to watch people running with the ball all the time I would watch rugby league. Someone should point out to O'Neill that the free flowing, high scoring games in the RWC had lower TV figures than most of the low scoring contests.

Well, i prefer players running with the ball more and not just kicking it back and forth. This has been a very noticeable change for me. I can distinctly remember union being more free-flowing with more running and less kicking only 4 or 5 years ago. The amount of kicking back and forth you see nowadays is ridiculous, in my opinion. Personally, it has become less enjoyable for me to watch as a result. I think us Union fans who feel this way should be allowed to, rather than be fobbed off onto League, thank you very much.

the aussies just can never admit it when they aint good enough

as Teemu is a Yid said the rules wont be changed worldwide just for him so the aussies are seriously just wasting their time

rugby is a vast sport with a lot of ways to play. still exciting if its running with the ball or kicking imo
