I don't want to start another pro Jol / anti Jol thread, but he was a good manager that was badly treated. Nevertheless, my point is that he had to buy players that (Naybet, Berbatov and Davids aside) we had rarely heard of...Tainio, Stalteri, Lee, Kaboul, Taraabt, Ghaly etc etc. Ramos is buying "proven" international players now, Modric, Pavlyuchenko, Bentley, Gomes...
The buying quality has moved up a notch, so he generally now has better tools than Jol. Lets see what he does.
I would not say that Bentley is anywhere near being an internationally proven player.
