You all know what i think of Robinson, but it wasn't his fault England lost tonight.

If England want to win games they have to start playing football. Passing the ball to each other, not over hitting passses to the fursthest player they can possibly see.
Either that or just say fuck it and do what they do best: Long ball.

England are technically embarassing. They're players are vastly over rated (yes I include gerrard and Rooney) and a succession of managers that think picking the most famous names is a successful formula.

England loose every time they come up against a decent side. They are outplayed every time they come against a good side. They manage to bully their way past poor sides who have leagues that are the equivelant of our second division.

B-C .. I make you so right, them prima donnas could not string two passes together tonight.

When football goes wrong, they had the qualification in their hands and spunked it. - not to worry 70k hitting their respective bank accounts weekly will help to ease the pain.
Or should I say NUMB

Kev, you think they feel pain? Eek

All they do is trot out a load of poxy tired out soundbites about how much they 'care' and how much playing for England means to them.

What they actually seem to care about is that as soon as they make the England squad, their contracts and endorsment deals go through the roof.

They show spirit in front of the microphone or in print, I don't see it on the pitch.

As you say, the bunch we're lumbered with are a bunch of underachieving, over rated prima-donnas. For passion and spirit, watch the lower leagues or even the rugby.

Yeah, but everyone will forget that when we beat Croatia and Israel hold Russia.

And there'll be acres of newsprint about how 'this is England's time'. :vomit:

What is happening with England now? It would be very sad if England did not qualify. Something would be missing in the competition. Let's hope England do the job, and Russia slip in the next matches.....

I think we need 3 things, 1. A whole new FA, 2. A hald decent manager and 3. Capping on the number of foreign players per team to enable english talent to develop at the top of our game.

I know . It's disgusting , I was at the pub and people were blaming the goal on him . Did anyone expect to win when the opposition had upwards of 70% possession second half .

Live near Reading and one person who obviously knew his stuff pointed out that Shorey would not have let it happen .

No way he Robbo going to catch that , just unfortunate he could not parry it wide .

Robbo is about as athletic as Mido and I don't think he can win the weight battle as he ages .

With The King back to restore order in the area and a Carrick replacement , Robbo will be OK for the time being .

Good post.

Upon looking at the replay a few times, I don't see how anyone can blame Robinson for the second goal. He made a good stop, but there was no way he could control where to parry it to. Even if he could, there was an oncoming Russian on the other side.

Surely the only viable option was the old Colombian 'Scorpion Kick'.

Darn right Insomnia. We were the best side in that tournament and had everything going for us. Venables screwed us over by failing to even try to prepare us, hence our string of miserable performances and results - Holland excepted.

Unfortunately, being English, we all focus on that Dutch game as how we're the best side in the world and forget our mediocrity and good fortune elsewhere.

I'm kind of at a loss for words about England really. We're simply not as good as we like to think we are this is not as a team but also player for player. Arshavin looked like a great player and if there's truth behind us buying him then at least we've something to look forward to.

I don't think sacking Mclaren is the answer though unless we have a good backup plan. So hopefully the FA will do some discreet Ramos style deals and know what they're going to before sacking a manager and not having a clue what to do next.

If Mourinho or Hiddink are interested great sack Mcclaren and start to look to a better future, if not then we might as well give ginger Steve time to help us move forward. To be fair to him we have been quite impressive recently and if he can get us playing like that from the start of a qualifier then we'll have no problems.

England are crap not because of our manager, does anybody really truly believe changing our manager is suddenly going to make our players look technically decent?

English skills levels are inferior and have been for donkeys, our academies are also inferior and the best talent in them is foreign.

We sometimes play with a bit of heart and agression, but when push comes to shove and we play a decent quality side we look very ordinary. English players are the most overhyped, overrated players in the world and when I'm watching England it is actually embarassing alot of the time.

We have to sort out the foundations first, that means grass roots, it means making our youngsters concentrate on technique and skill, not getting stuck in and tackling, it means youngsters playing on small five a side pitches and learning close control and technique, until this very simple concept is grasped in the country that invented the game, we'll continue to look a joke.

We have only been impressive recently against shite opposition.
Russia and crotia are crap teams who we should easily beat, not in the same class as the italians, bralians etc etc

Even germany reserve team beat our team of world class over hyped players.

Rubbish, completely rubbish. And Im posting this on my honeymoon!!!
