If this was serious I doubt it is any longer, he has just made an almighty gaff to lose Southampton the lead on 96 minutes.

Nothing against us buying a 28 year old but if we do I would rather it is for players at the highest level.

Unfortunately Bertrand is good but not at the level required for a short term buy.

Bertrand isn't going to make us much worse and he won't make us much better so what's the point. Sessegnon, Tierney and possibly even Shaw all have a much higher ceiling

Shaw definitely has a higher ceiling, probably only just short of Sess. His biggest problem is his terrible self motivation

I agree, I would much rather have Sessegnon or Shaw than Bertrand. I would even like to see Keanan Bennetts from our academy get a look at LB/LWB this summer in the ICC, Bennetts has been very impressive for the U23s.

Yeah would love to see Bennetts bought in too as have heard his name positively a few times.

Only problem is Poch having initially been pro-active with youth for me seems to be holding them back a little now...

I think it is because we have better quality players now.

Initially Poch came in with an underperforming team with a bad attitude in some players.

So bringing in some hungry, determined youngsters was easy. Now we have a good performing side it is harder to bring rookies through.
