It's a ridiculous appointment to be honest for all the reasons mentioned before. Especially when you consider the fact that they've got a genuine world class talent in the team and this is their last chance to make use of him. They need someone who can take advantage of this once in a generation talent.

Totally understandable my friend...you are forgiven...I am the same way...forgive me but as a Welshman I don't give a fuck who manages England..I will never 'support' them either...but as a Brit I will always back any of the home nations against foreign opposition.
Ryan Giggs, however, has no such national loyalty..he played for Wales with reluctance and lethargy, avoiding friendly matches as often as possible. To have him trying to manage the likes of Bale at international level is pure farce.

You also missed, because of his private life, he is no role model

Exactly.

  • No experience
  • Proven track record of not giving a fuck about Wales
  • Scumbag off the field (long running affairs not only with a fucking Big Brother contestant but also his brother's missus for crying out loud!)
  • Doesn't even have a Welsh accent
  • Is mates with Paul Scholes
They could hardly have found someone less suitable for the job to be honest.

It’s one of those moves that look so stupid, that it just be a stroke of genius.

Except it isn’t. It’s a stupid idea.

He captained England Schoolboys as a youngster....there's national pride for you !...what a complete tosser. I would not having him selling programmes at Cardiff. The Welsh FA have covered themselves in brown, foul smelling embarassment with this disastrous decision. Regardless of future results he is , on nationalistic and moral grounds, completely unsuitable for this position.

Despite playing at the highest level of club football for 22 years, Giggs only made 64 appearances for Wales, winning his last cap in 2007...not due to selection but more 'availability'

I wonder what the crowds will be like with him in charge. Are the fans going to stay away from the friendlies?

Unfortunately we won't get to find out as much with the Nations League more or less replacing friendlies.

Wish they would though.

I want him to do okay.

Then hopefully someone like West Ham will take him on and provide more comedy for us.

Can't imagine him taking the West Ham job. He's so incredibly arrogant I imagine he thinks he'll spend a couple of years with Wales then walk into the Man Utd job.

Apparently he thinks he can help Bale with his injuries now he's the Wales manager. If he thought he could help him with his injuries why didn't he do it before?

This reminds me of when they appointed Mark Hughes. Giggs career in management will likely take a similar trajectory. One day, if he’s really lucky. He might get the sack from Stoke.

He will get sacked every 2 years for the rest of his career and live in the shadow of having been a good player under a legendary manager in the misplaced belief that the SAF magic has rubbed off on him.

“So, if you can just go and win the game, that will be great”
