Fractured skull, but in stable condition as per Hull official statement.

Wishing him a speeding recovery.

I've always admired Mason and it was sad at he didn't make it at Spurs. I hope this isn't serious. Get well soon Ryan!

Hopefully the bleeding on the brain is incorrect.
The fractured skull, whilst it sounds bad, isn't such a worry, especially as it's a clash of heads rather than something smaller that could potentially send bone fragments into the brain. I've had mine fractured twice and not suffered any adverse effects, and one of those was falling onto a projecting bolt.

Fingers crossed for the lad, hope he makes a speedy recovery.

The Club can confirm that Ryan Mason sustained a skull fracture in our fixture at Chelsea this afternoon.

He was taken to St Mary’s Hospital where he has undergone surgery.

Ryan is in a stable condition and is expected to remain in hospital for the next few days.

Everyone at the Club would like to express their sincere thanks for the excellent and swift care given to Ryan by both the Accident and Emergency department and Neurosurgery Unit at St Mary’s Hospital.

A further update will be issued tomorrow.

So fracture confirmed and stable is great news. Still hoping for a full recovery and hope he's back playing sooner rather than later, but that has got to be a very tough injury to rehab from.

Obviously like with Muamba the most important thing is not football, just recovering well enough to have a happy life, but call me greedy if you want, I want to see him playing again one day.

Surgery on the skull/brain is very serious. It could well be the end of his career but all that matters is that he recovers and is able have a life.
That's true, but at least he's not fighting for his life like Mirror claimed.

Good to see that the situation is not as perilous as the Mirror suggests. Hopefully Spurs will try and help him with his future as his Pro career is likely to be over as a result of this.

Good luck Ryan.

But he may well be fighting for his life. The surgery might have been removing part of his skull because of brain inflammation and "stable" might mean he's in an induced coma.

Why not spell out all the different scenarios so that we're best informed? He's not wrong

That's not being "best informed". If you want to be best informed, pay attention to reputable news sources/official statements. Not some dogshit newspaper and some blokes on the internet.
