It's sad news for him personally to have his career cut short but it's life-affirming to see him being so positive about what he did achieve, particularly about his time at Spurs. Glad he made his dreams come true at our great football club.

All the very best Ryan.

Was disappointed when he left us, proud of everything he achieved, never gave up despite not breaking into our first team squad until the relatively late age of 23/24.

Let's hope there could still be something at Spurs for him in a coaching capacity in the future.

I'm really glad I'm alone reading this. Have to keep wiping my eyes to be able to read the words. Especially after reading Ryan's statement.
Pleased he's recovered but really disappointed he's had to give up playing. Tremendous lad and great team man.
Followed his dream and played for and captained his club and represented his country too.
He'll have plenty of memories from his Spurs days.
I can only wish him and his family all the best for the future and hope we can find a role for him with our great club.
Good luck lad, you deserve that and a happy, successful future.

Gutted to see that he's had to retire, hopefully we're looking at bringing him back to the club in a coaching role should he want to. No doubt he'll get media work, he's done some already and speaks very well.

Sad but there is absolutely no point risking your neurological health.

Hopefully he can come back and coach at Tottenham should he desire to do so.

There are no adequate words to express how I feel. Ryan is a top man, and very humble. Very sad. I fully expect him to complete his badges, and come back as a coach in our academy. The club will look after him. Thank God he is alive with no brain damage.

Can't really do more than echo the words of the rest of you. Ryan Mason was part of the resurgence of the Spurs academy after years of not seeing all that many of kids coming through the ranks. Seems like such a good lad. Everyone will genuinely be hoping that he has a good future - in or out of the football world.

All already been said but tremendously sad news for Ryan.

Will always remember that goal against Forest as the moment things started to look better under Poch, and that goal against Sunderland was a thing of beauty...and showed that he's a brave player.

Really hope he stays in the game and really hope he does so at Spurs.

Gutted for Ryan, Spurs through and through and was part a catalyst in the Spurs resurgence.

YIDO!!!

Wish him all the best in anything he wants to do, with an attitude like his the world is still his oyster.
