I’m so proud to have come through the system and played at the highest level with you @ryan8mason. Your career was ended too early but it’s just the beginning of a new chapter! See you soon

Mason is a clever lad and was a very intelligent footballer not to mention he oozes passion, commitment and desire. If he wants to go into coaching I have no doubt he will be a successful one. Would fucking love it if he coaches us one day. Him and Ledders. What a team.

As fans and looking at what we have now, we are greatly indebted to Mason. He and Kane changed everything for this staff which has changed everything for the club. I will forever love Ryan. Good player. Loves this club and it is obvious that the cosches and our players we still have from that team have an affection for him. Hope he comes back sooner rather than later and would love Poch to give him a spot on the bench next to the staff for a game this season and next season at the new stadium as a gesture(if thats allowed within the rules). There’s only one Ryan Mason.

Thank you, Ryan. All the best.

It just shows how short a career can be and how fickle life is. I hope all our players especially the younger ones take note, realise how lucky they are and don't squander their money.

What I really really rate is how positive he comes across in the interviews etc about his future. Massive respect for him because it would be v easy to be bitter and depressed right now but seems to have accepted things and is looking forward to another phase in his life.

I always liked him and thought he was talented nd clearly a proper spurs boy....but ive had a soft spot for all the guys that came through the academy around that time - Obviously Kane but Mason, Andros, Bentaleb - all were important in helping us fans fall back in love with and relate to a club that seemed to be drifting away from us

Interesting that on Instagram his fiancee posted a picture of Ryan and a message to him in honor of his career, and in it she said that he wasn't expected to make it through the night, let alone walk or talk again (I also might add, and I don't mean to be insensitive, but wow he is doing extremely well off the pitch! She is stunning).

I never realised the injury was quite that serious, to be honest. Obviously any head injury is serious, but I didn't know that at the time it was genuinely life-threatening.

Anyway, when he's been on Sky Sports as a pundit he's come across as knowledgeable and he speaks well, so I think he definitely could have a career on TV, but like many I hope he comes back to Spurs in a coaching capacity at some point.

There's an interview with Pochettino that was posted on Spurs Twitter where he's talking about Mason. You can just see through his facial expressions and his tone of voice just how much Ryan Mason means to him, not only as a player who was so instrumental along with Kane in establishing the new Tottenham, but also as a human being. There's quite obviously a lot of affection there from Pochettino and he speaks beautifully about Ryan and his experiences with him.

You got a link to his fiancee’s post? Would be interested to read it

You can maybe see why players are after the biggest contract they can get if all of a sudden it gets taken away from you.

He's on Soccer Am this morning from 10am. The show in itself is rubbish but might be worth a look for this reason alone today

I walked past this today and I thought I would share it with you all.

A touch of class from Hull City and I have to admit, it did make me feel rather emotional.
