There is definite interest in this guy, but the only way I see us moving for him today is if someone else makes a push first. One for the summer IMO.

Hopefully we can convince him not to go to City, Chelsea etc for the money and to disappear off the face of the earth.

Read about him in today's standard, which mentioned his age/contract situation.

Here's an interesting read on it - sounds complicated but not impossible, though sure there are more knowledgeable people out there than me with my googling technique

I'm not reading anything from a website called Cottage Confidential in case the Mrs. spots it in the browsing history.

That's great news.

I hope we can complete the paperwork during this window for him to join in the summer. At least then, we won't have to worry about him being snatched by one of the rich clubs between now and the summer.

Yeah surely it's better to be proactive than reactive, if we make the first push for him hopefully it sticks out to him how keen we are. Iirc Oliver Burke said Leipzig showing real interest was 1 of the deciding factors in his move to them

Man City look in desperate need of better fullbacks and Liverpool are still using Milner. I worry that waiting till the summer could be too late.

That would be my thoughts as well, for us he is a Danny Rose apprentice, for them a soon to be main player. And even if we get him they could push the price up.

Think they would both go for proven players at top level. We'd be looking at a good prospect to develop into a top player since we're already sorted with Danny Rose.

Agreed, they're more likely to go in for Rose or a Rose type especially Man City.

I know you are all desperate for info, but as far as im hearing there is nothing to know. We are interested in the kid but I can't see it happening today unless his circumstances change.

Sure it makes sense as we are better off in this position that anyone else.
However with no deals being done I would have thought our transfer machine cold be used for focusing purely on this kind of longer term signing, something that is nit going tp lose us money but could make the club a fortune ... look at the crazy stuff happening around Dembele at Celtic who clearly have made a platinum investment!

Im sure a few months ago it was mentioned in the youth thread (in Spurs chat) that he was all but certain to go to Man City. (Unless I dreamt that).

Here you go:

Someone called 'therhinospeaks' (think some people on here know him) has said Ryan Sessegnon has agreed to go to City.

@thfcacademy do you think we'll get sessegnon and is he the sort of player which suits our style?

Thanks for the info. It feels like this lad could be another one that we miss out on through not moving quick enough
