Wonder if Ryan heard Rose say "I wish Poch was here when I signed as an 18 year old" and thought, yeah I'll have some of that.

This maybe said in jest but in actual fact you would be surprised how many people will take notice of his comments. (I know your not saying they are or aren't just following on with your comment)

Realistically, if we manage to sign him, and he stays with us for the season (not loaned), he's probably more of an option at LW than LB. It'll be interesting to see what his role might be, though. Nonetheless, we need to live (and thrive) with signings like this.

We don't really play with a left winger though

We have played with the "3," though. That's probably where he's going to have to learn. It also would give him the opportunity to get acclimated to defending/tracking back against tougher opponents. In theory, it'd be a good learning opportunity as it wouldn't put him on an island and hopefully he'll have the best LB in the EPL providing some insurance.

If he signs, it is not a loan-back option. We will soon enough find out though.

Given how well Davies has done lately and how awesome Rose is, why not? Or at least a loan to someone like Brighton, for instance. How many games is he realistically going to get here. I watched the video, and there are a lot of misplaced passes, heavy touches etc. Still far from premier league ready imho.

Poch doesn't loan young players he sees as having a future with us.

Personally think that's a very naive approach to youth. We can't accommodate them all, and at some point they'll need to cut their teeth on some real competition. Training is fine and dandy, but a lot is learned through match experience. Rose is the prime example. That loan to Sunderland made his career for us, in my opinion. He came back a completely different player. It happened before Pochettino was here, but the point remains. Sometimes players need competitive match minutes to really see how good they can be.

Yeah but last night on the radio Rose was saying his first three loans in the Championship were a nightmare. It's so hot and miss, and the chance of finding your player the right club, where he'll play are minute. Can understand why Poch wants to keep them close.

I disagree, I'm completely in the Poch camp. Regardless, that's the way he works. Sessegnon will be a project. He'll want him close and worked on. He won't be on loan.
