Think Janssen is similar to Shearer in build and somewhat in style also, which wouldn't hurt (much less talented finisher of course).

People seem to forget that until his second cruciate, Shearer was actually lightning fast. By the time Shearer retired he was very much a back to goal striker but only because he had to change his game, for most of his career he was playing on the shoulder and running in behind defences.

To be fair though, defenders back then were very immobile in many cases, lightning fast is over egging it IMO, but agree he used to run through, however my memory is of a shoulder to shoulder runner who used his strength to fend off, rather than an Owen or Cole who back then would regularly run through with simply pace (or Sir Les before his legs went and he joined us!).

Please please please please please be the wing forward.

I know he's untested at this level, but just think this is exactly the sort of signing we need to be making when we can't/won't pay £60-£70M on ready made talent.

Also signing a winger on loan from wolves. If they manage to get a forward. I.e. Dwight Gayle as well we might get Sessegnon

Not sure if I'm just suffering from blind optimism but I've had a feeling for a while that this could still be a goer and that Fulham want it all kept hush hush so they can bring in reinforcements to soften the blow.

I would love it if we signed this kid today (so would my Paddy Power account ;))

Hate to burst anyone's bubble but they lost a left back to hudds and replaced him and they are losing aluko, who needs replacing. Also I think a major player in piazon is out for ages. It may happen but not sure these signings are an indication.

how dare you come in here with your well balanced, well thought out points. there's no place for that here on transfer deadline day, no place whatsoever.

Sounds like we have done lots of ground work with this one. JJ said it was looking good and whilst many of us took that as he will be coming this summer, I think he actually meant we have persuaded the player to join us next year and understand Fulham's position with fee etc.

That can all change I guess but I do think we will probably hear more mutterings in January because that's when all the clubs will be looking to get him. Fingers crossed.
