Sessegnon won't be a left back

I don't really mind either way. He's got enough about him to become a left back long term.

Ultimately his eye for goal and his two good feet suggests he may well do a Bale and move further forward.

For now he'd be a perfect LWB, could (I'd guess) fill in at AM if needed and could cover LB in the right circumstances. He's also a very obvious star of the future.

So I don't really mind whether he's a specialist LB now or not (even though he has been playing there for Fulham), he's a star and we should go for him

Lol he's 17 years old, played 18 times at left-back this season and he's Fulham's top scorer.

Honestly, I want this guy more than I want anyone else. He would be a perfect wingback in our system to start off with and then gradually move forward.

If we buy him it I am confident he will play as a left wingback for us. Besides, a modern wingback is playing very advanced.

I imagine that the quoted price is £30m in the same way that the original Bale fee was to be £10m, i.e. an awful lot of add-ons and clauses.

The original bale fee (if i remember correctly) was £6m with a 20% sell on fee. When soton got in financial trouble we bought out of the sell on fee with £1m.

I had it down as £5m with another £5m in add-ons, which we then bought out for £1m. It was a long time ago though...

You could be right. I can't remember last week.
I seem to recollect it was on here as something like 5 & 2. Regardless, what a fantastic piece of business that was.

Levy also took advantage of Leeds around that time, plucking out Rose for £1m

Just before that got robinson and keane (they paid half of keanes wages for 3 years).

Agree. When we play a back 3, the wingbacks are basically midfielders anyway. Also lets not forget, Danny Rose was a winger when we bought him from Leeds.

Really want us to sign this kid

Would be very happy if Levy did another Dele type deal and he joins up with us in the summer

He wouldn't take up a squad place because of his age.

I didn’t mean in terms of registering him, more his role within the squad. A pacey young wide player who has a greater chance of affecting games and having an impact.

Give him game time in a more advanced role and play him LB as and when necessary.

With Sess in the ranks I don’t see where GKN fits in, so in theory he takes his role within the squad but with more game time to match his greater ability.
