The only way I can see this working now is for us to buy and loan back to Fulham for the season. This would be a good deal all round imo

How is that good for Fulham?

They effectively just made £150M for winning yesterday. They are not hurting for money. They can certainly afford to wait and see how Sessegnon adapts to PL.

They get the money and keep the player for a season. For all we know Sessegnon could have an average season and he’s value could go down

Villa's defence was hopeless with Terry playing at a slow walking pace. Fulham were a different class but they will struggle in the PL next season IMO.
Don’t agree. I see them being a bit like when Swansea came up. Have dominated that vision consistently since about December, and play lovely football. Really like their midfield 3, and I’d be amazed if Sessegnon left now. Think them and Wolves will both do very well.

This is an era where Gylfi Sigurdsson goes for £45m.

You are being a tad unfair on our ex-Icelandic playmaker. He went for £45M After averaging 10 goals a season for 3 years and also notching up 13 assists per season (in the premier league). In a weak Swansea team fighting relegation.

For comparison this year Eriksen got 10 goals and 10 assists for us this year. Dele got 9 goals and 10 assists.

Now I am not saying that Sigurdsson is as good as Dele or Eriksen, or can influence a game as much, but his stats show how important he can be to a team that is set up to play to his strengths. Everton messed up by buying him and then also signing Rooney and shifting Sigurdsson out to the wing where his lack of pace makes him a liability defensively and limits the impact he can have on a game.

If Sessegnon can come into the premier league and match the stats of the three players I have mentioned above in terms of goals and assists then he will be worth £50M+. Probably more due to his age and the fact he will get better and better. But whilst he is only getting this stats in the Championship ... well, it's hard to argue he is worth £50M right now.

There is no bench mark for what a player should or will cost. No point in saying this player is worth X amount because another player moved for Y. The only values that matter is the one a club is willing to sell for and what the buying club is willing to pay. There may well be better value around but it all depends on how much we want him and will we pay what they want. His achievements thus far are not the main point that is setting his value, his potential is. Nothing more to it than that.

If we want him it's going to cost circa £50mil. Lets see how much we want him.

Correct - Football is a microcosm of supply and demand capitalism.

I thought rumours said we got him. I take it it was all that, just rumours? His price just went up another 15m

What do you mean by "rumours"? If you mean random rubbish on Twitter, disregard it. As far as I'm aware, the ITK on here was always that it was dependant on Fulham's status at the end of the season, promoted or not.

Since it's looking unlikely we'll get him so I was wondering will we be looking for another player in the similar position for 40-50m?or will we save it for next season for him?
