I think i can remember 17 year old who did really well in Championship, but his first season in Premier League wasn't really good and there was a lot of talking he's gonna flop. His name was Bareth Gale or something like that.

Ryan is a talented kid, who is wanted by Poch. Poch is known for making decent full back look great. I'm all in for this.

Skipp seems to possibly be a part of pochs plans. We'll see though. You might be right.

Poch seems to be following the Winks approach to Skipp's development. Keep him training with the 1st teams, give him gradual minutes and eventually turn him into a full fledged starter in time.

Sorry, but irrespective of whether Sess will be a good signing, this long repeated myth about Bale is revisionist nonsense.

Sessegnon in PL last season got 2 goals & 6 assists, playing further forward on occasion in a relegation team. There is no question here about his talent. Question seems to be on whether he can be a LB.

But then perspective is important too. Fulham's shit defending and lack of leadership on & off the pitch seems to be contributing to the assessment on Sessegnon as a Left Back. Fulham came through play of route in championship, mainly down to Sessegnon 16 goals. They had total disregard for defending & it caught up with them in PL.

Sessegnon IMO, has to develop physically. He isnt hopeless at LB. Often got let down by other defenders playing alongside him.

I really believe he will do well, even in LB with experienced pros around him like Vertonghen.

Rose was not a LB. While he got converted to LB at Sunderland, he didn't improve defensively till Poch took him under the wing. I still remember the anger directed at Rose when he got the 5 year deal in Poch first season. But by end of the same season, he proved Poch right.

If Poch feels Sessegnon can play LB, then lets trust him on this one.
Firstly Fulham's biggest problem was changing a winning formula, treating the players who got them to the PL with disrespect and killing any kind of team identity.

I believe Sess is clearly not a winger, and I doubt that is where he will make it. He always impressed me much more as fullback whenever I've watched him. I imagine he could also play as an attacking central midfielder. He has great technique and vision but lacks trickery to really thrive further forward. His pace is much more effective coming from deeper and in the PL its where he should play.

I think there’s a good chance that we’d see a greater contribution in attacking areas with Sess as opposed to Rose ( Rose’s biggest weakness is his final ball and composure in the last third ).

However, defending and going toe to toe with quality attacking opposition down the left side in the PL and CL? That is another matter entirely.

I think he'd be a brilliant signing. He's still so young but doesn't look out of place and absolutely bossed the championship.

Playing in a team that is expanse and attacks is a world away from the football Fulham were able to play last year so I wouldn't be surprised if we were to buy him and he showed immediate promise of holding down the LB place ahead of Davies.

The kid's the real deal.

Weaker teams sess. Stronger teams davies? At least while ryan progresses. He's still 19 nowhere near his full potential yet.

I’m sure that’s how they see it. I suppose it depends on how good you think Davies is. I think he’s a solid pro and has had periods when he’s been good, but I don’t think he’s quite good enough for a team to challenge for top honours.

Depends on the personality really - does he get overwhelmed? Can he be consistent against teams regardless of their stature.

I remember when we bought Dele we all generally believed he would be a bit part player for at least a season, but he showed in his first few games that he wasn't phased by anyone.

Sess could be just the same - I suppose we won't know until we see him in a Spurs shirt.

I think judging Sessegnon on the shambles that was Fulham last year is the same as judging Lo Celso in that argentina squad or any of our players under sherwood.

Everyone seems certain that he’s going to join but the last I read was that they wanted £40m and we only wanted to pay £25m. There’s been no reports of us getting closer together on the valuation. Plus he’s injured so won’t be able to have preseason with us.

I wonder if we will persue it now or try and sign him on a tribunal in 12 months time when I suspect he will have even more suitors.

They'd be fucking stupid not to sell considering their relegation. They'd lose out on £20m if they let him walk on a tribunal fee.

Because of the injury and the fact we're obviously aware of the contract situation we will hope that they cave on the valuation late on.

Not me. Said he would be in the england squad by the end of the season and was right. Also said pritchard would be and was wrong on that. But oh well.

I would like to see Edwards go to Fulham as part of the deal if they would like a player from us. Especially if he's not part of Poch's plans

Think it's the kind of club which and football style that he could thrive in.

Would definately insist on a buy back or first option too, if it could be worked in. Such a huge talent.
I doubt he'd want to come back

Can't see Parker putting up with Edwards

If he joins, I think he could be a top fullback and would progress very quickly.

I do wonder however, with talk of Foyth at RB and Davies at LB, maybe Poch wants a slightly different shape this season. Maybe with the midfielders coming in, we will see a lot more shifting about and fluidity going forward. So much so that, without defensive midfielders, Poch just wants a solid defensive backline, rather than wingbacks. Goes against what we've done before, but its effectively what City do, as Walker doesn't fly forward and zinchenko/Delph played a lot when Mendy out.

Might be totally off, but it would make sense.

Bale did really well in his first season. Started brilliantly with his MOTM performace in his debut at Old Trafford and scored in his next three matches. Unfortunately he got injured early in December and was out for the rest of the season basically. His second season was also filled with injury woes.

I do not know why people are always trying to revise history with regards to Bale.

Could be a lopsided defense. Sess joining in attacks and foyth forming a back 3?
