A bit worrying signing this guy, and letting Rose go. That means we have Davies as starting LB next season. Don't see at all how that makes us better.

More worrying is we're still 'hopeful' on him, we're not close it seems to bringing anyone else in (bar ndombele) anywhere in the team at the moment and we've just started our preseason ....

Davies still recovering from groin surgery and Sess with a hammy injury. Super jan at LB
Apparently AG was saying that Walker peters may get some game time at left back on your. Foyth is cutting shirt his holiday to come over and play some games . Think poch wants to give him as much time as possible playing right back. Get him ready for the new season

I hope the 'hopefull' is more down to him recovering from his injury to be able to do a medical? If not doesn't sound great.

It was the same the last couple windows as well, which we know how it ended. Luckily we've signed one player for this season so we can't have doubts otherwise we're bedwetters.
Yep, I want to understand how others are remaining positive with no visable movement on players coming into the team to strengthen the first team squad ... The mind is beginning to boggle.

Because we don't know what's happening behind the scenes and we could be making movements for replacements. We seem to now have much less ITK come out last few windows as maybe 5 or so seasons ago.

You guys realise hopeful means good right? Another word for confident or optimistic

Because some of us don't expect ITK or the media to know everything about what's going on.

And because the last two transfer windows are not the only transfer windows in our history.

I'm not saying you're wrong to be anxious, but we're all different and I personally don't feel nervous and expect more incoming.

Yeah I agree in regard to the itk but that doesn't mean we shouldn't have more movement, and the ideal that we're 'hopeful' of a deal for sessegnon is not what I would want to hear - hopeful? This deal feels like it's been in the making for nearly two years.

If our intentions is to play him as a left back, really disappointing we haven't brought him in on time for the pre-season tour - we're haven't got a single natural left back in our travelling squad.

Yep. Very disappointing.

This really should be wrapped up.

Fair, but the word 'hopeful' sounds less than positive, combine that with near radio silence and the two players we were meant to have been in for but because of (what sounds like choices that don't possibly meet our need and want) we're no further forward than when we completed the signing of ndombele.

As you say it's okay to feel either positive or anxious, I'm normally of the former but with our recent form in the market, I guess I'll have to park that feeling of impending doom and see what comes.

Hopeful... After 2 years of chasing this guy we're hopeful.... Ffs this should have been in the bag months ago. But no, we're having a lovely transfer stand-off with Fulham - owned by one of the richest men in the world - to get them to shave a few quid off the price-tag...
Luckily Levy always comes out on top in these protracted transfer battles... :banghead:

It has been in the making for 2 years, but with extra money clubs are getting, the fees they demand are getting higher especially when players sign longer contracts when a deal doesn't come off.

It's like real wanting Kane, eriksen and poch, they have been after them for a few years but wouldn't be able to offer enough for us to let them go.

I still want to believe the 'hopefull' is due to him being injured and need him to recover enough to do a medical.

Hopeful doesn’t sound too good, considering we have told our first choice left full back to look for another club.

Think we are waiting to sell rose. Or at least find a buyer.

So we've finally addressed our lack of depth in the centre of the park and have now left us with massive holes in defence mainly at fullback. I dont see Ryan coming in and being anywhere near ready to play fullback in the premier league even if we did sign him. All his success in the championship came further up the pitch. Isn't the mentality of a club that wants to challenge for a title
