A few saying he was due to board a flight last night to head to London, and he didn't make it on the flight.

Well, if it's true Rodriguez isn't happening, I hope we reopen this possibility before it's done even in the slight chance. I think we're one attacker away from being a side capable of standing up to the top four.

Have to admit, it is interesting this has still not been announced by Saints. Don't honestly believe there's anything to it, but still interesting nonetheless.

Toby announced, nothing on Mane yet

Very strange, considering his medical was so much earlier. They've even announced several first team player departures, one since then, but not this one in.

Great business by Saints. Could have been a real asset to us.

I'm glad though, that Poch has identified his man and is willing to wait for him. This move would certainly make them more amenable to sell in January, which is better as it allows them to continue to pay for Rodriguez' rehab and pay his salary while he tries to prove he's recovered.

Spot on, mate. It's safer for him to continue his rehab over there. Plus, it also lowers any risk we might incur in wasting money of a player who could end up with a long term injury. It would be so Spurs to go out and spend on someone like J Rod and find he can't truly recover from his cruciate ligament. We'll have a better understanding by Jan as he'd have been back for a few months, and he'd only have 6 months left on his contract so will be cheaper.

I was under the impression his contract was until 2016? Am I mistaken?

And you're absolutely right, would be incredibly Spursy to have brought him in for big money on the premise of a promising recovery, and he snaps that same cruciate once again a month in after hanging up a couple goals.

Watched him over two games vs malmo ff in the CL qualification. Wasn´t impressed by him and malmö ff is a very weak side. They went on to beat Salzburg with 4-1 over two legs. Think we dodged a bullet here.

Watched those games aswell, he only played in the first leg that they won 2-1 and was without a doubt missed in the second leg. Think he couldve done a decent job for us, seen him a few more times and he have looked quite good but Kampl is without a doubt their best player imo.

My bad! You are absolutely right. I still dont think he's good enough for us. He may be a useful player for saints but in my opinion he's not any better than what we already have. Malmo are, as I said before, a really weak side. There star player are Markus Rosenberg and he was awful when he played for west brom ,28aps, 0 goals as a striker.

I appreciate your input on this.

The key thing for me though isn't that he necessarily would have provided more quality per se, but rather that he could have offered something different. That difference I think is something vitally missing.

Still very positive after this window though. I feel we've addressed the most crucial areas adequately, and can leave the attacking positions to be more appropriately assessed over the next four months.

Going to be interesting to see how he does as players on that team have hugely inflated stats.
