Without being too harsh on him, I still think how his career turned out is a clear reflection of his mental fortitude. He is fortunate enough to get paid to play a game for a living and he should've focused on that. Even if he didn't get his move to us, he should've knuckled down and kept working hard to improve. I'm not sure how many years he had left on his contract when Levy made the offer but he should have kept progressing and eventually left on a free transfer if he felt hard done with WBA chairman.

All I can say is thank fuck we never got him.

As I said at the time (and all I got was, "oh Poch would sort him out"), a friend (and fellow Spurs fan) of mine is related to someone who was at West Brom at the time. When we were linked with Berahino and so he naturally asked his opinion on the guy, the response he got back was three words - he's a ****. Apparently you would be hard pressed to find anyone at WBA, in the academy or first team dressing rooms, with any time for him.

I could add more, but I wont, only to wrap it up by saying it's no shock that his career has thus far limped along with the odd controversy every now and then to put him back in the headlines.

Dodged a massive bullet not signing him. He should have put his head down and gotten on with it after WBA told him he couldnt go but he moaned and sulked and now his career is going downhill

Dodged a bullet indeed, although I do wonder if Poch had got his hands on him how he might have turned out.

looks like he just got sacked by Stoke, too think what a future he could have had and talk of with England too at some stage.

I still reckon he’d have done a lot better with us.

Pearce was being a massive dick at the time.

It's not like he didn't have hints of problems before though, Peace isn't really to blame for someone being an idiot

True, but Pearce still acted liked a dick.

Berahino by no means covered himself in glory, but Pearce was just being bloody minded.

Jeremy Pearce tried to earn his "I took on Daniel Levy and won T-shirt but just ended up ruining some poor lad's career...

Never particularly wanted him at the club but would've been interesting to see what he could've become.

It could be that Berahino has a mental health issue, maybe trauma from his childhood, maybe something else, that was easy to keep under the wraps when things were going well but harder to deal with once adversity hit.

As long as he doesn't speak publicly about it we won't know why, but I'm willing to bet there's more to it than that he just threw his toys out of the pram.

Shame. He was a good talent, but has pissed away his opportunities.

Can't help thinking that if he had got the move to us things would possibly turned out very differently for him.
