If this team breaks up because of not paying players like Walker and Rose parity with players like Son who is on £85k a week then Levy needs to be held to account. I am not having it that because of the new stadium we can`t pay better wages than West Ham and Crystal Palace. We have waited years to be in a position to challenge and to see it fade away because of lack of ambition and trying to be a smart business negotiator would be heart breaking.

Rose apparently on 30K a week and Walker on 50K a week no wonder there is resentment...

For fuck sake.

Every one of these players who apparently we underpay signed new contracts willingly as players in the England squad who had just helped us get into the Champions League. It's not as if we are holding these players to contracts signed as schoolboys, it's not as if any of them had guns to their heads.

Walker, Rose, Dier, Alli, Kane all signed their contracts in the past season, having started our CL campaign and having been starters at the last Euros for England. They were happy to enter contracts at whatever their wages are as international starters who had got us into the Champions League and had a storming previous season so if our wage structure was good enough then, it's good enough now.

Can you please clarify a couple of points please? Where did you get the information on the wages of Son, Walker and Rose and where did you get the information that Levy said we can't pay as much as Crystal Palace and West Ham because of the new stadium?

Not sure about the wages you quoted but anyway, many of these players like Rose where laughed at by opposition fans before Poch came and coached them to what they are now. They can leave if they want but if a player favours money over ambition which is what moving from us to United is right now what can you do.

Lack of ambition? We've spent the best part of a billion quid on a training complex that's up there with the best in the world and a stadium that will not only increase gates hugely but will also generate money in ways never even conceived by other clubs, all the while establishing us as a top 4 side with some of the most sought after players in the league. Developed and nurtured English talent, pumped money into the local area and supported various charities along the way.

But nah, we should definitely do the opposite of what's afforded us our recent successes and throw money at mercenaries in the vague hope they can be bothered to turn up now and then.

This kind of thread, fuck me!

Who is actually going to hold Levy to account, the owner? Oh wait... that's Levy.

What does he have to be held accountable for anyway? The man is managing the club through the largest infrastructure investment project in British football history, if a player leaves because we have financial constraints on the wages then so be it.

I have never quite understood where all these authoritative reports come from, revealing the supposed contract details of players/managers. I accept that the odd one might leak out from time to time but the papers are full of such details. The other day it was Defoe's signing on fee, weekly wage and bonus arrangements - Surely there would be no point/wish from Defoe , Bournemouth or his agent to put this into the public domain. I tend to view most of this 'itk' to be educated guesswork most of the time.

Clickbait sites like sillyseason.com that lists the private salary details of every player in the league (lol). Because a lot of people are stupid and believe something because it's on the internet.

Even if a player leaves we will get good money and reinvest it as we always do. Our squad is worth so much now that we don't really need to worry like we used to when selling the likes of Carrick and Berbatov. We've stepped up to a different level, it's time for the fans move on too. Poch is the only one who we should break the bank for if needs be.

Yes and No. If Rose is on 30k a week, and Walker 50k, then no wonder they are annoyed. Look at how much sissoko is getting?

Plus if City or United are prepared to offer 150k a week who could blame em?

Levy needs to renegotiate and stop this from dragging and ruining squad harmony

I think the problem is Walker and anyone else looking at leaving are actually not interested on what Son or whoever are on, but rather what they can make by leaving. In other words they are already halfway out the door cos they probably know what they can get elsewhere is way out of the ballpark of what we would pay and much higher than even our best players (Son included) is currently being paid..So I dont think Levy is to blame if Walker wants 140+ a week when maybe only Kane and Lloris are getting barely that with all their included bonuses.

You cant compete with what City are willing to pay.. Not for a few years....And until then we will lose players whom we feel we can cope without or get adequate replacements for. This is just a fact of how it is. Levy isn't to blame at this point. Its something that we just cant justify at this point in time (paying over 100k or 150k a week for Walker to stay)

Lets just see how it all pans out.

I think we can afford it though. We will be bringing in close to 275m next year.

I think it's an interesting discussion, as it's the only way we won't win a shit load of trophies. It's the only reason a player may want to leave. So why shouldn't it be discussed. You can't keep spamming people, discuss it and put your points across

Imagine if we kept Bale, Modric, Berbatov, Carrick etc... The only limiting factor is money.

Im sure Rose would be happy with 75k-80k.

I gotta say, I trust Levy. He has methodically built us into a top side. If we lose a popular player here and there, so be it. Thats the nature of the game. Im not saying he's perfect, but f*ck me, look at our trajectory over the last decade.
