Spurs star has a shocker as he concedes a penalty

Conceded a penalty and sent off for swearing at a linesman - not a great night for Spurs defender

Tottenham's Canada captain Paul Stalteri had a miserable night as his side suffered a 2-0 defeat by South Africa.

The Spurs full-back conceded a penalty when he brought down Thembinkosi Fanteni and was sent off 11 minutes from time for swearing at a linesman.

Oh well. At least when he goes missing it's because he has been sent off, unlike chimbonda who has disappeared up the right wing!

Oh, and just out of interest, when did he do this for Spurs? I can't remember when you are talking about. (I seem to remember him giving away a penalty- but the sending off and penalty I have gone blank on).

He fucked up big time against Sunderland away a few seasons ago, which would have given us fourth. Not that it really has anything to do with what he's saying, but obviously what he's referring to...

He also did a lot of good that people completely chose to ignore. He linked well was lennon, was part of the best defence we've had in years, and even got a few assists and goals. No thrills player, but a solid one, and one I'd have in my team 100 times over before Chimbonda would get a look in.

Oh come on RMY. Get with the programme. He's given away countless penalties and been sent off so many times. Can't remember a game he's finished for us. Canadian freeloader.

Of all the current defenders we have Salty is no more likely to give away a penalty than any of the others - and probably less than some othem. As for getting sent off - has Salty ever beeen sent off for us - I don't recall it - again there are more likely red card candidates than him in our team.

Salty was sent off against Liverpool, but that's the only time I recall...

Of course twatting around with a 1-0 lead instead of filling our boots against the worst side in the league had nothing to do with us dropping those points.

And let's not get started on his swearing. The only reason he gets away with it is because he does it in Canadian and nobody understands. But Steve Nash would understand, but he's not an official.

Aye SS57  We were shite against Sunderland, and that more a tactical choice than just not being up for it. We sat back and let Sunderland back into it. Salty was just the easy fall guy, as usual.

Don't hate him. Just don't rate him.

I like both Chimbo and Stalteri. Chimbo's been off form this season though.

I take it you are working 'lates' this week.

No, I just can't understand how any rates him. What does he add? If you want a detailed response, go look for one of my replys in one of the many Chimbo/Hutton threads.

I hate him because he plays every game, and I don't rate him  That said, I always cheer him on and encourage him when I'm at WHL. I'd never boo/abuse a player at WHL unless it was very, very much called for.

I don't rate either of them a huge deal, but Salty is a solid player, whereas Chimbo is just pish.
