Such a great player for us.
His performance in The 0-0 at home against Ac Milan was immense. An absolute wall that day.

Him and Palacios were the defensive midfielders we'd needed for years. Both were brilliant for us.
It was so frustrating that we didn't get more peak years out of Palacios, Sandro or Wanyama. Each of them theoretically had their prime years ahead of them (all aged 24-26 when things went seriously wrong for them).

Honestly surprised he’s only 34…best of luck man
It was probably easy to forget his young age while he was busy destroying our opponents.

2010 - Signed aged 21. Looked very good in the PL & CL during the 2010/11 season, despite his age.
2011 - Meniscus damage during pre-season. Only missed the first two months of the season.
2013 - Surgery in the January, on the same knee as his 2011 injury. Out of action for 6 months and was never the same again.
2014 - Sold to QPR at the age of 25. Missed most of the season due to ongoing issues with his knee.

At the time, I was upset that we weren't more patient with his recovery, but with hindsight we made the right call. After his surgery in 2013, he never managed more than 25 appearances in a season.

Sometimes it's never about how many games or how long they played for us. But when they put every bit of their effort while doing so, you can just tell these players will go down well and be remembered fondly by fans for a very very long time. Sandro is one of them.

His peak was incredibly brief but it was magnificent. A proper student of the art of the DM, so much industry, energy, clever positioning and timing on his tackles

He was the epitome of his nickname before his injury. It seemed he covered pretty much all of the pitch at times with boundless energy.

Interesting that this was on our official site and it mentions him working towards coaching badges. I wonder if it is with us. Either way it doesn't appear too much of a stretch to think he'll be involved with the club in some capacity in the future.

Such a nice guy, I unintentionally bumped into him last season at the Spurs vs Frankfurt CL group game. I was desperate for a pee at half time and there was a rather long line to get out of the stands and into the concourse: clocked on that the line was for Sandro. A giant and one of the most friendly of guys.

Seems like he’s doing his badges at Brighton? Would’ve thought we’d have welcomed him back here with open arms?

Yeh, he has been spotted in Lancing by a few people (for those who don’t know the training centre is in Lancing) I’m only about a mile away, I may get my stalking gear out
