I get your point, billnick- but here's mine: Brazilians do not like to play for Argentine coaches. It hurts their pride. A bunch of mata rato shirts in the stands in Minas Gerias might be tolerated, but try that at the Morumbi or Maracana. You would be taking your life in your own hands! I know this from personal experience, being an Argentine who has spent a lot of time in Brazil. Perhaps my personal experience has prejudiced my opinion, but I doubt I'm not the only one.

So your point is totally different to what you said in the first place? OK

Imo I think it comes down to this, we spent a shitload of money last season on players and now have more midfielders than the rest of the league put together (joke).
Our DOF is going to have to get rid of some and does anyone think he's going to sell any of those he brought in and look like a proper doofus, or will he push Livermore, Dembele and Sandro out the door?
I hope this is not the case and he isnt allowed to do anything without Pochs say so but since when did a Doofus pay any attention to what the coach wants.
Point Im making is I fear these transfers may have nothing to do with whos the best player. I mean we had a guy come up from under 21s who looked a better player than those we'd spent a fortune on.
Imo it would be absolutely f in nuts to let Sandro go.

Hopefully Sandro will be aware of our concern and take to social media to reassure us. If we hear nothing it could be ominous.
If he stays, his absence from the WC may be fortuitous for us, both in terms of getting rested and also not showcasing his skills!

True, but you would expect a supposedly top quality manager to put those negative urges to one side.
Sandro of course may feel differently, and in any case, sadly we may look to upgrade. He still does not look fit.
Paulinho plays the safe possession football that Poochie demands, so I feel he will be kept.

But sure, we can see by his selection of staff that Pooch favours Spanish speakers, so regardless of form I see Lamela and Soldado as automatic selections. This is not such good news for Adebayor (should he stay), Kane, or Eriksen.
I'm not so bothered about Adebayor, but if we piss Eriksen around, then I'm going to lose patience rapidly.

Lamela and Soldado automatic choices because they speak Spanish??? Regardless of form?

Also his selection of staff are Spanish because he began his managerial at Espanol.

He has also just brought through 3/4 England internationals from Southampton and his focus on youth is supposedly our big reason for hiring him.

Are you Tim Sherwood is disguise or a daily mail journalist?

But yes I feel his choice of back room staff is open to comment, and yes I feel that Soldado and Lamela will have an advantage over the other players.

I think his focus on youth has come from necessity rather than anything else. If Levy tells him he has £16m to spend this summer - who do you fancy? - I doubt he will tell him to put his money away.

I just think he was a Spanish speaking manager/player in a Spanish speaking league... and has kept his loyal servants. Im not complaining if we decide to do things the Spanish way, as opposed to the English.

I think he'll have a few bob to spend.. We need a cultured centre back and a true leader. A fit Ferdinand would fit the bill, ex-captain of one of the biggest teams in the worls, experience of winning everything... but his fitness conerns me. A left back for sure..... and an efficient striker. The squad is good and I hope with a new managers we will see a number of players up their game.
