Simply not good enough for their squad. Nothing to do with Sherwood.
Sandro, when playing well, is in my opinion a better player than we have seen so far from Paulinho - albeit they play different roles. Paulinho is in the squad. Sandro was playing his way back in after injury when AVB was replaced by Sherwood, who hasn't given him a look in and has rubbished him with the press.

I can't see where Sherwood not playing him and criticising him in the media will have helped Sandro get in a squad that he was a part of a couple of years back before he got a couple of bad injuries.

I have to agree, he just hasn't reached the same heights as last year. He simply hasn't recovered from his knee op. and I'm sure he's frustrated as well; hence this outburst

Yes but then levy will reinvest it, unlike a lot of clubs in the league

No argument there, We'll break even on transfers without ever spending anything. Its not great but then we are financing the stadium as much as possible and did finance the training facilities. I'll take that.

My only gripe would be that we get no real stability, our best players can be sold at anytime and the manager of the day never gets time. A discussion for another thread I suppose....

I've always been concerned that TS's efforts to show the players that he is the boss, and his wholly inappropriate method of doing this, would lead to some of our players looking to move away. Looks like it may happen.

Hopefully this will just turn out to be a minor issue and once TS is gone, and a proper manager put in place, it will blow over.

Sandro played fifteen games this season. Hardly likely to be called up to the Brasil side or any International side worthy of being considered one of the title favorites i.m.o.

Our last four managers all saw players moving away so another one of your conspiracy theories crashes and burns. No doubt the next "proper" manager will be as soft as shite and run a mile when a part time player whines on Twitter.

The manager of one of the best sides on the Planet decides that a player who has been in and out of the Spurs side injured for long periods is not good enough, but that's Sherwood's fault

Yet, one who in his first season at Spurs, and is managed at Club level by the same manager is selected?

Yet for some reason you completely overlook this?

Regardless of what one thinks of the man - I'd rather see Sherwood go than Sandro. My only worry is that Sandro's just doing this to get himself an 'out' by jumping the shark on this one.

I think people are not noting the context of these (translated) remarks when considering what Sandro is up to. The dead-giveaway paragraph is this one:

Quoted by a media outlet in his home country, Sandro also said he was flattered to be linked with a move to Sao Paulo but that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would make it difficult for the 25-year-old to leave White Hart Lane.

He was being asked a direct question by a Brazilian journalist about whether Sao Paulo were trying to sign him and he replied with a comment tailored for a Brazilian audience.

He's not saying that he wants to leave. He's keeping the journalist at arms' length and making the kind of non-comment that footballers nearly always make in these situations, but he's doing it as a Brazilian speaking to a Brazilian for the benefit of Brazilian readers.

He wouldn't have had an English audience of Spurs fans in mind when speaking.

You know what, I'm glad Sandro came right out and said what he said. He is a true whistleblower and should go on record with more of the inadequacies of the current administration that's hijacked our club. At this point he can't unring that bell, so may as well go all the way!

True, he hasn't. But he is still the best defensive midfielder we have. Sherwood and Ferdinand have gone on record saying they don't like the holding midfielder role (which Sandro excels in) and seem to have tried to play him as a box to box player (which he has done ok with but not brilliant). If our manager changed tactics and played with a holding midfielder we would see the best of Sandro again. He is excellent in front of the back four, breaking up play, giving the ball to someone else and running himself into the ground when we're not in possession. Square peg. Square hole.

It strikes me that gaining plaudits for getting the best out of Adebayor through bringing him back in from the cold counts for nought if you then alienate one of our other outstanding players. We all know Sandro is the best holding midfield player around, why doesn't he play him in that role? If he wants to play a different type of midfield game, why not wait until we have the right squad for that type of game and in the meantime get the best out of the players we have. That's reasonable management isn't it? Then again, what do I know...
