I always feel we are quite reasonable as fans and can admit when our players aren't doing too well (boy are we good at that) or over hyped. We can also concede our 'good' players are only 'good' we won't hype them to be the best in the league

Don't get me wrong he's a quality player but he's been so inconsistent this year and goes missing in big games... Where was he pulling the strings against us for instance.

It's just I don't even see anywhere near the adulation on SC for Bale who has been much more exciting than Santi has this season.... It's embarrassing. A personal few favourite quote of mine are:

'I rate Cazorla higher than Mata, Silva (and Bale, if you want to count him as a midfielder) because he does much more work when it comes to build-up play'

'He's world class'

'Like Iniesta'

'He's got it all'

Surely there is no proper justification of this even by the most deluded Arsenal fan...?

And the stats provided are based on 'per 199 shots'... Because that's a conventional variable.

Has he been inconsistent or has he just been shit when Wilshere is in the team because he has been pushed wide or somewhere else.

He looked like the only player who was near the quality for RVP and then Wilshere and him were suppose to be the dream team and then he was no where to be seen.

I said it before and will say it again Wilshere getting injured was the best thing that happened to Arsenal

A few echoed that sentiment. So you believe Arsenal are a better outfit without Wilshere? Interesting.

I saw someone post yesterday that Gervinho has as many assists as Bale this season, which obviously makes him just as good and just as effective. Righto.

Mata's better no doubt, Silva as well but he's not really hit his best form this season

Yeah agree Silva has been poor by his standards this season.

Just frustrates me as a general football fan the bullshit come fans come out with - just because of their rose tinted glasses.

Not to de-rail the thread but Cleverly is another one... Most overrated player ever

he's up there and worthy of being in the discussion. unlike wilshere though who is insanely overrated. he can pass with the best of them but he does not affect the outcome of a game, just look at arsenal's results without him. they should cash in on him as mug teams will queue around the corner to spend stupid money on him because he's english and can snap the ball around nicely(but harmlessly).

Cazorla is fantastic. Not done it over long enough to be called the league's best, but he's a wonderful footballer.

Thing is, though, he's got no affinity with the club and being so good, if Arsenal don't finish top four and then start slowly next season so they don't look like winning anything, I don't think he'll be there more than another year. Mind, he's probably the most likely to ensure that isn't an issue by taking them to the CL by himself.

I really like the look of Wilshere when I've seen him play. I mean he needs a sustained season to prove his quality but it's hard to deny its there. I hope he does become amazing for England's sake as he will sure leave Arsenal too so it's no worry about strengthening them.

I believe Le Arses result statistcally are better without wilshit in the team bit like bale was for us but then bale wasnt playing in the advance position he is now. Wiltshire as some have said is grossly overated, Cazorla is a great player but he can go hiding in games i believe there are several midfielders better in the league but then he has only been there less than a year.

to be fair wilshere is still young so who knows what can happen as he reaches his peak (injuries permitting of course). i personally believe that he does indeed have potential just that it is yet to be fully realized. however he is one of the few players left there that still plays for the shirt so you can understand why they (over)rate him so. cazorla on the other hand does have some class about him but is prone to inconsistency (perhaps he just hasnt got used to the EPL yet). having said that i hope caterpillar coat decides to sell him soon as they look a markedly better team with him in it than out of it. i heard mancini called on citeh to spend big this summer. let's hope cazorla's on their list so arsenal sink and another brilliant player warms the bench for 200 grand a week

Don't see someone coming in big for him at 28... Not after one inconsistent season

Not really fair to compare the likes of Mata, Silva and Cazorla...

both Chelsea and Man City has loads of quality, as compared to Arsenal.... who else has the quality he has on the ball? Every good arsenal attack centers around him, so he gets alot of the spotlight. Just like Charlie Adams previously.

A few work colleagues of mine are Gooners and they get very frustrated with Cazorla. They say he's the definition of a luxury player. A guy who just drifts in and out of games and if you're lucky he'll pull a rabbit out of a hat. They don't think he has anywhere near the impact on games as Wilshere does or get involved as much as Arteta and Rosicky, but due to moments of unbelievable tekkers he's worth having around. According to them at least.

He's been inconsistent but their midfield isn't setup properly to get the best out of him and any formation that has him playing from a wide position is a waste of time.

Villarreal's midfield with Cani, Valero and Senna was perfect for him.

Wilshire (Borja Valero) should play deeper with a proper defensive midfielder (Senna) and Cazola should play the No.8 role.
