Man Utd are becoming a team to hate again. I used to at least admire them back in the Fergie days when they (comparatively) spent very little and bought good youngsters through. Now they are no different from Man City and Chelsea.

What absolutely fkked me off about this was the fact that we should have got him when Southampton were having a yard sale of all their best players. I can't remember a manager joining a new club and NOT immediately taking at least one good player with him. Especially when it was a manager leaving for a bigger club.

At least we can move on to our next target and not be dicked about till the last hour leaving us empty handed.

It'll be ironic if Manchester Utd fail to make it through the Champions League qualifiers.

Don't know that it particularly improves Utd.. They will have to drop a very good player each time Schneiderlin plays. I'd have Carrick off them if he'd come.

Thank God for that. Now at last we can stop talking about the stupid French twat and move on to someone who actually wants to play for us. You don't miss what you never had.

There's nothing to say he would have made much difference to us anyway. He will probably not have much impact at United unless they get some major injury problems. I'm sure we can find someone in a similar mould without having to spend so much.

Might sound bitter but I'm glad we didn't spend big on this dude. Southampton players in my opinion aren't anything special, and its more a team ethic they have. Think he'll looknsuper average like all the players they've sold for massive money to pool and united

Was really hoping we could still have pulled this one off,

We should have bought him last year before L/pool started making holes in their squad.. He wanted to come but Levy baulked at the price, MS would have got us top four IMO, our defence was shocking last season and like him or not, players like him make the difference. instead we'll move on to plan b then plan c and will end up with just another average player.

Its really infuriating When you look at the players weve gambled big money on (Lamela) who bring little to the team then we let a seasoned dead cert of a player slip away that would bring everything we need because of the price. Id much rather we spend 30 on a MS than 30m on Lamela.

The slight difference is the money they spend is all internally generated. Makes them slightly less annoying than Chelski
