That sucks I think he would have done very well to carry on watching Poch and Mcdermott and keep learning from them. Clearly has the right leadership skills, hopefully he develops a good tactical knowledge.

Disappointing news - highly thought of who could have had many years developing the youth, and should have been looking forward to progressing with us.

I agree with you, but in Scott's point of view, he's been offered a role as first team coach for a newly promoted team. We all know that if we were to be offered such a significant role in a team, we'd jump at it

Exactly. That's why I bear him no ill will. He's chosen coaching as a career, so an opportunity like this is a very good one. Anyway, who knows, as he progresses, we may choose to make him an offer some time down the line...

Strong feeling Parker Lampard and Bellamy will be top managers next generation. Hopefully Southgate will give the big clubs the guts to take a chance on the new breed of young British managers.

Why? Southgate is knocking on for 50 and has been managing for 12 years now.

He's older than Poch.

Bellamy speaks fantastically and will be a great manager I’ve no doubt currently working with Cardiff U18s but been linked with numerous jobs.I think most would perceive Southgate as young especially in managerial terms. Never really checked but always think of him as mid forties. But imo he’s certainly a modern day manager when you put him up against the likes of allardyce Moyes pulis etc.
