I see why we would want him, but with Sandro showing real signs of promise how do you fit Parker into a midfield along side him and Luka Modric???

Parker and Sandro in the middle with Luka back on the Left? ok, so what when Bale comes back? Rose and BAE both have merits to being left back .

I can only imagine that a Parker signing would lead to Sandro being relegated to the bench so Parker and Modric can run the middle.

I can see why we would want him, but personally I'd rather see how could a Sandro/Modric combo can become with a full season playing together.

I would easily take Parker for for £5/6m. I agree with BS though, don't wanna see us pay more than £8m for him.

We will have to ship out Wilson, Jenas, and O`Hara at least before we need Parker, a decent player but IMO not a first team player with Modric and Sandro in CM...... if he is happy to be a squad player and we can get him for under 3million and can ship out the other players, i would say we should get him, other wise a waste of money better spent on strikers and competition in goals for gomes

I just cannot see west ham accept two from us or anyone else for that matter. Unless they're utter screwed for cash

Van Der Vaart.....................................Bale....

No way Parker is good enough to start ahead of Hudd or Lennon though, or probably Palacios when he's fit again.

Parker for £2m on lowish wages as a 5th CM, effectively replacing Jenas and O'Hara would be ok. Anything else would just be foolish.

Apparently Parker the player of the season is not good enough for us. If we had more players with the fight he has we might have been able to get top 4.

Surely the season is about squad rotation and buying him would add depth.

Parker is tailor-made for away games when we need a bit of bite in there, sometimes games can pass big Tom Thudd by.

Can't believe some people are trying the 'jobs for the boys' routine and mentioning someone like Pav in the same fucking breath as Parker, let alone this thread. Lionheart vs Mouseheart.

If he signs you'll see a level of commitment and desire that will most likely put most of the other players to shame. Scott Parker is a fucking hero and the type of player we need at the club.

Sandro and Parker away from home and when we need to match the more physical sides we've dropped points in this season.

I'd expect him to make so much of an impression he'd play very regularly and be outstanding too and a lot of people would have to eat their words. Hope he signs.

Dan, you're obviously entitled to your opinion, but I simply don't agree that Palacios is anywhere near Parker in terms of the type of game he plays. I see Parker either supplanting Huddlestone in the middle of the park or giving him a mighty big kick up the arse, like the signing of Bentley did to Lennon a few years back.

Have you seen much evidence of this during the season other than to cover injury and suspensions. If Parker is put into the team ahead of Sandro he will stay in until he is either injured or suspended. This is the worry.

There is no great masterplan to switch formations. Harrys way is to collect as many good players as he can and then try and make them into a team.

Thats just your opinion though. For all we know a lot of these players might not be performing in training and thats why they arent picked.

Parker will give us 100% all the time and thats more than a lot of our players do.

Five things worry me about Parker:
1. Age
2. Injuries
3. Price
4. Sandro
5. Wages

Parker is just one of those industrious players who shines in poor teams - Danny Murphy, Neil Redfern, even Jamie O'Hara etc.

He's already flopped at this level before and re Palacios, I just don't think there's any chance that he would have been capable of putting in the performance Palacios did at the San Siro.

I agree, however on a cold Monday night up at Blackburn in December, Parker is the type of player who would stand up and be counted, which could make all the difference.
