I do agree Sandro Ramirez may have been worth a punt at £5m for a pacy/tricky WF option. I also don't believe we'd have had to pay him £120k a week. Admittedly that may or may not be what Everton may be paying, but I think given our higher profile, he may have accepted less. Taking into account the failure to add a pacy/tricky WF, he most definitely would have been worth trying, as even if he didn't pan out, recovering our outlay would be easy.
Moving past that, not a bad job done this summer.
I'd imagine Carter-Vickers and Onomah will return from loan, hopefully improved by the experience of regular competitive football, coming back to add further competition for places. Add to that, the continued development//maturity/progression of players like KWP, Tanganga, TOB, Edwards etc. Positive times ahead.

- Sanchez has potential to come in and quickly be a top level performer who bridges the gap between having Toby and Jan start, and what happens if/when they are unavailable. One of our downfalls last year was not the starting 11, but the calibre of those who came in to replace them.
- Foyth has the potential to be a Sanchez type in a season or two, but we've got him for roughly a quarter of what we've paid for Sanchez because we've got in early. We often moan about not buying players at source for £5-10m ish, but ending up targeting them a season too late, or after another move, getting quoted 3x that.
- Aurier seems to have all the physical tools to slot straight in for Walker, probably at a level whereby without the background problems he'd probably have been out of our reach. Looks to be a great balance of Walker's pace, mixed with Trippier's attacking intent.
- Llorente, to me he's the most sensible of the signings. Experience at the top level, plus proven in English football. Gives us another dimension, and with his physicality he may just create extra space for other players. In today's market, his fee, even at his age, looks a very astute bit of business.
- Gazzaniga, just adds another keeper in place of Lopez, who may or may not play, but in reality Poch, Jimenez and co have worked closely with him previously whilst at Southampton, so he's a known quantity to them, and must have something they think they can work with.
