Will not be offended if people don't want this or it isn't possible to set up on this site, but wanted to see if we could start a thread on scouting ie player analysis of players that people have watched from this coming season?

I've seen it on other forums and I always find it interesting. I spend half my professional life compiling information on players anyway.

Really wanted to discuss the performances of Lee(Bolton) and Kalinic(Blackburn) yesterday, but it didn't seem relevant on here.

Anyway just thought i'd put it out there.

what do you think of them?? both players impressed me at the Lane last year. Lee's been on my radar for a while now actually, very tidy player, and like all Koreans has a great engine. Kalinic I know less about, but like I said impressed at the lane, especially that legitimate disallowed goal he scored.

Allardyce has assembled a pretty strong squad, which he deserves credit for.

Kalinic was excellent yesterday. They've done a lot of work on his physique and conditioning over the summer and he looks a new player. Led the line very well yesterday and was a really handful. Good technique and awareness of players around him.

Nzonzi, Jones, Olsson and Kalinic are worth keeping an eye on.

Thowig do you rate dembele, the new Fulham lad? A few years ago he was a real hot prospect in the Dutch league, and I remembering scoring what should of been the goal of the season in Holland, so how's he ended up at Fulham, and for only 5mil?

I've been impressed with Lee nearly ever time I've seen him. He's got a very good delivery, great composure and looks to have a "Football brain". He'd be great backup/competition for Lennon and I'd rather have him than Bentley and Gio on the right.

great thread mate. Agree on kalanic reminds me of berba. Stating the obvious but i think we should of tempted fulham with about 8-10 mill for hangeland when hodgson left, strong and very mobile defender.

andy caroll without jumping on the bandwagon made some intelligent sherigham esc headers.

Jose enrique looks neat and tidy.

Fletcher at Wolves is another player I think will do well this season. I'm surprised someone like Everton didn't make a move for him. If Doyle and Fletcher can form some sort of partnership then Wolves should be comfortable this year.

I think he fell off the radar a bit last season possibly as he didn't score many goals. I rate him and think Fulham have pulled off a bit of a coup by signing him.
The Premiership is ideal for him though as his pace and quick feet will serve him well. He's dangerous in tight situations and can turn players very easily. He also has the physicality to do well in the Premiership.
I'm intrigued to see where Hughes plays him.

agree on fletcher and doyle. That brad jones from rovers could also become a solid centre half.

I started a thread in here on Fletcher towards the end of last season. I'm
going to watch him and Doyle closely this season.
I too was surprised he didn't get snapped up by someone like Everton, who instead have stumped for the vastly over rated Beckford.

I was very impressed by Fletcher last season. He missed some easy chances granted, but is overall work rate and technical ability surprised me. He's a great buy for Wolves.

Kalinic has potential, funny was just saying today to a Blackburn fan that he reminds me a bit of Berba too. If he manages to get 15 or so goals this year, he might be ready to move up a level to a top 6 team.

Just watched the Chelsea Wigan game.

If I was Harry I'd be sending scouts out at every opportunity to watch James McCarthy. Tough challenge for him yesterday, but think he's an outstanding talent.

I can't help you with the two EPl games, but did watch Toulouse yesterday and can give you an appraisal of them.

Toulouse played some very nice neat passing football and controlled large chunks of the game but, as ever, the stand out performer was Etiene Capoue. This bloke just looks imperious for one so young to me. Toulouse play a 4141 formation with the midfield in a kind of diamond (although it was flatter yesterday). Capoue sits in front of the defence cleaning up danger with those long legs, often just laying the ball off neatly, but on occasions he reads the opposition, intercepts a pass and strides forwards setting up attacks - as he did for the first goal yesterday. It's always hard to say if a player's form in the french league would transpose to the EPL, but Capoue looks the real deal to me and I think he could play in any major league.

Sissoko was missing unfortunately (as was Gignac ?), but the other good performers were the ever industrious and skilful Didot, Machado contributed moments of neat skill and dribbling and both the CB's (Congre & Cetto) were fairly competent at defending and on the ball.

I'm not sure in all honesty. There's something about him that I just don't like.

I concur. He's clearly got ability, I just wonder if he's right for the EPL.

I'd still probably swap him for any one of Keane/Defoe/Pav though I guess. They are all flawed so we might as well swap one and take a chance.

Ahhhh, I assumed that he had been the subject of a bid (hence the question mark) but I was busy friday and didn't see that - it happened pretty quickly by the looks of it.

I don't overly rate Gignac - He is what he is - I think 16-18m Euro is a good deal for Toulouse but they don't have many attacking options so they may need to move quickly if they are to sustain the good start they've made. They did look a little toothless saturday.
