Season defining fortnight

I don't believe it's it too drastic to say this next fortnight could well define our season.

3 games against our rivals, 2 against our nearest rivals and two Cup games. I'd expect a comfortable win against Newport at Home now but a bit like before the Xmas period, it looks like we're a bit lacking in ideas.

Come out of these fixtures badly and there's a good chance our season could be fucked already.

At very, very least 5 points needed from the league games, and to be in the tie after the away leg in CL is eseential.

Agree defining moment of the season for us. Mess it up and it could have a huge impact on what our team looks like and what competitions we will be playing in next season.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves....

We need to take one game at a time. It's still very tight race for the champions league... And I do expect us to lift our game against Juventus. we have a tough run of games every year. Gotta trust the team's gives their best. So...

Calm down....... And
Come on you Spurs!

We're actually the form team in the league, scored the most goals and let in the least, Understand we looks toothless without Eriksen but I expect him to be back for these games anyway.

I'm not taking anything away from the Newport match as it's pointless.

It's threads like this that encourage the meltdown and tantrums when we fall short. I was expecting top 6 at best with the Wembley season and still am. Not having CL next season won't be the end of the club. It won't mean we have a mass exodus. It would be nice, but it won't be a disaster if we don't get it. I think you're best off taking each game as it comes rather than trying to work out that we need x point s from y games.

The Newport game was a write off and I'm not too bothered, apart from the visable lack of fight.

I agree that we generally raise our game against bigger sides and especially Juventus I am confident, but any of the 3 league games? Not at all.

Its concerning how bad we look without Eriksen, or if he has a patchy run of form. He's in many ways our most important player as it seems when he's away, or having a bad game, but look utterly toothless

I'm more confident than you it seems lol

Take one of the most influential players out of any team and they'll look toothless. I think Liverpool have a lot more to worry about then us seeing as their most influential player has actually left the club.

Exactly. Win the lot, lose the lot, nothing is decided. All that will happen is we'll move on to another set of 'defining' fixtures.........IMO of course

Of course I agree that nothing is decided, but we don't have another set of fixtures in such close proximity against those around us. It's true to say that every game is important as another, but we've got 3 "6 pointers" in just over a week.

There will be anomalies such as Swansea V Liverpool so nothing is for certain but the balance of probability says that we do badly in the next 3, then its EL for us.

Whilst not the end of the world, and I don't expect an exodus etc at all, people are deluding themselves if they don't accept its a big blow for next season.

Coming back to this thread. Well. Fucking. Done to the boys (y)

2 wins (with clean sheets) and an away draw at possibly the hardest place to go.

Added strength to the squad with Moura and everyone back to full fitness

What a fortnight

What a run.

With this we've set up ourselves for a strong run in. Our hopes in the two cups very much alive.

Our remaining fixtures in the PL are against the teams currently in;
15, 17, 10, 13, 4, 19, 1, 14, 11, 20, 8.

only problem i dont like with our run in is that we'll be coming up against a lot of teams who will be battling relegation given how tight it is at the bottom of the table. That is going to mean a lot of teams sitting back and defending deep for a hopeful point, so hopefully we can find ways to break those teams down

The return of Lamela and the signing of Moura will help a lot.

Surely all you need to keep saying is the next fortnight will define our season, changing the teams pf course, until it actually ends.

As the old adage goes the next game is the most important
