Having thought long and hard about renewing our season tickets next Monday (Phase 3), we have after 12 years of going decided not to renew. I really feel totally let down by our club and it will take me along time to get over it.

I don't blame you. 4 years ago was the same for me. I was hoping to move to a cheaper area of the stadium but it never came up, the team weren't performing particularly well so the tickets weren't selling on stubhub at the time when they were eventually released and it really wasn't worth the money to me. I've not regretted it at all either. Saved approx £3k a year from not going and 75% of our games are live on tv anyway!

The only thing I would say is this season there is a novelty factor to the stadium. If the 10 month option is a nice 0% deal, it might be worth holding on to and selling via the exchange and making your money back for one season then getting rid if it's not for you. I reckon you should be able to flog every ticket next season no problem.

Is it just the price that you feel let down by?

There are 17000 seats in the South Stand , the first 4 phases accounts for 20000 season ticket holders and not everyone wants to go to the South stand, there will still be spaces for phase 5 applicants and possibly 6.

But it will still be harder for larger groups. Groups of 2,3 and 4 will hopefully be ok. I’m betting there are loads of groups like ours (10/11/12) that may struggle. I’d hate to get them in a straight line in one row because it basically means you only interact to the person to your left or right the whole match, so we’re hoping to get them over 3 rows of 3 or 4 (like we were in WHL) or 2 rows of 5 or 6 at worst. I’m hoping it’ll be fine but it’ll be tight I’m sure. I’ve crossed my fingers and cock in the hope it brings me luck.

The first three phases are all people who've had season tickets for 11+ years. The split is in the loyalty points, so those who have been to more away/cup/European games have more points than someone who has 'just' been to the 19 home games.

So the system works then.. it's rewarding the then fans who have held their tickets and been to more additional games with first dibs.

I bought four season tickets for me and my sons around 1994 when Klinsmann signed, and getting tickets got more difficult. I have had them ever since.I was originally given phase one for two of the tickets, and stage four for the other two, even though we had attended the same amount of games.
I rang to complain, and was pleasantly surprised when I was dealt with good customer service - not something that is always the case with anything to do with Spurs and tickets. I received an email two days later saying that they had checked it out, and they had made an error - all tickets were allocated to phase one. So if you think you are in the wrong phase, it is worth complaining.....

Great post. So much more useful going to the source than winging to a newspaper or MP.

Tottenham outpriced poor bastards like me a few years ago!

To be fair, the average price of a Tottenham Season Ticket can't be much different to our peers, Arsenal and Chelsea. You can't really compare to any other teams in London or the country really

Yeah it's not quite that simple, as I've bought every single home cup game since they started doing the Gold season ticket -- all domestic, all European. And as I've said had an ST for 31 years. My dad's been going since 1948 and has had a season ticket since they started doing season tickets.

Neither of us have been to many away games for the last 4 or 5 years, him through ill health, me through him not going and me having 2 young children.

So somehow that translates to us not being in Phase 1. Personally, I don't think that's right. I understand they took people's loyalty points away to enable people other than the old guard to get access to priority away tickets, which is something I agree with - but there's absolutely no reason they had to use that same policy for season ticket priority, where a completely different type of loyalty comes into play -- ie attending for your entire life.

Also worth bearing in mind that the last few years have seen arguably the best Spurs team for a generation.

Whereas a lot of long term ST holders were going week in, week out ( including away games) when we were totally shit.

Either Spurs aren’t updating the site showing tickets sold very quickly or very few tickets have been sold. Perhaps reassuring for people in phases 2-5.
Perhaps it is that most are in groups and very few groups are all phase 1 people? Either that or thousands in phase 1 have decided not to buy, which seems unlikely.

TBH don't know why anyone would want to go to a game when you can get a far better view from the comfort of your own chaislongue.

my issue is i have three season tickets 2 old and one from wembly.
my points vary so first ticket juniorb member starts in phase 2, mine in 3 and my eldest boy 5.
i want tickets in south stand but cant see getting all three seats together.

my best option is to look at north stand to be on the safe side.

the system is going to hurt the original fans and on the back of that impact the atmosphere.
wont be like it use to be in the old ground.

hope not but can see the prawn sandwichs coming.

I emailed them, they said they weren't going to do anything about it.

I'm not in the wrong phase as such, me and my dad were just victims of what they decided defined the most loyal supporters - and that was effectively who had been to the most away games in the last few years, and had nothing to do with how long you'd been attending games at WHL.

Exactly! Home and away under George Graham and Gross was pretty much just an exercise in how much punishment you could take. Paying money and traveling long distances in order to be tortured.

They don't know how long you've been going to games at WHL other than "before 2006". What do you expect them to do, ask 15,000 people to send in X number of tickets from whatever era to prove they were going at the time? The only alternative to loyalty points was a free-for-all and I think they're fairer than that.

Of course THFC know who has paid them money to buy season tickets going back years. Financial records don't just disappear. It's Ticketmaster that don't have the records - that's who's handling it, not THFC.
