I called the season ticket line yesterday about something else and asked that question as part of my discussions. I was informed that there are some seats being kept back in certain blocks. The lady I was speaking to didn’t know why and couldn’t tell me where other than they weren’t in the family block.

Someone on coys who was 40,000 on the list was offered one yesterday. My son is at 51,000 so if it goes down that low then I’ll have to make a decision. If I don’t get one when will I get the chance again, that’s the question. He’s two though so not exactly ready to go there anyway.

It makes a mockery of the waiting list IMO.

There should maybe be 3 levels of membership -

Waiting for a season ticket.
Membership with ticket priority and increased loyalty points
Membership with less benefit

Otherwise, shouting about having 50k+ people waiting for a season ticket is wrong, most of them clearly aren't if we can't see 4k tickets to 40k people.

It all comes down to money, at lower prices sure they would have sold out quickly but at current pricing levels many fans clearly not able to find the near £1000 or so needed for a full price ST. The club said that you shouldn't compare the old and new stadiums but I think upper tier north at WHL was £775 a season inc. two cup games, new ground north upper tier front rows central behind goal will cost £1125 with no cup games, quite a hike. Be a small bonus for members if ST's don't fully sell out will make more available for them.

But it will cost the member a minimum of 1/19 of 1125 for that ticket plus a premium so will be very expensive to go on a match by match basis

North and south upper (as in upper upper) are £875 (assuming there are some left)
Directly below that they're £950
The old stadium froze prices for years, that's one reason not to base pricing on that, not to mention the totally different stadium with differing facilities and experiences.
You could get 2 league cup games for a fiver a pop so why are people going on about that all the time? You're not going to get CL games for it, the FA cup doesn't start until January, so I don't get the sentiment about losing 2 cup games that cost tuppence. If anything, they're probably saving you money as in past years, those sort of games weren't so cheap in an individual basis and, to be honest, half the ST holders don't bother with midweek games against league 2 sides.

There are clearly a lot of people on that waiting list with no intention to buy one, they just want the extra benefits of being on it.

That is very true but it looks like many members are keeping their money in their pockets and will just take a chance on the odd game.

The 42k ST is slightly deceiving. Obviously the 8k hospitality are still ST if you’re looking at pure numbers. Also not quite sure what’s happened with that 5k that was held for local residents. I think the take up on that was 700. So what happened to the 4.3k over did that go to waiting list or held for members. Anyway worst case members will have 4K so obviously some sections have been held back.

After 20 years I got to 5000th ish place, I got offered one the other day and I did not take it because all that was left was right at the top on the main stand which is not really my view preference, and some the opposite end, but I have always sat in park lane so this would just irritate me. I did not really know the process of what if you want to go with family etc. , they obviously cannot sit next to you if they are members and you are an ST holder. I felt for me it was not right, so I guess for this season I am just hoping for member tickets as I always have done.

I know from reading this thread if I had the money and health to do so I would definitely upgrade my membership, though the disabled section most probably all gone

In all seriousness if I were in your position I would get your son an ST if he is offered one for the very reason you stated (when will you get the chance again). You should be able to resell it and could probably upgrade it game by game to an adult where you wanna take a mate.

given the euphoria attached to going home and the promise of an unrivalled arena, certainly in the UK, only Levy could have struggled to to sell out STs with his greed- totally unnecessary victimisation of fans with fewer resources. Once the novelty wears off and the team has a leaner year, there will be loads of empty seats- unless he slashes the prices.

Strange as I called yesterday for my son who is 35k on the list and was told that he would be in the next batch if any were left.

Proof? Especially on the local resident take up? Or are you just trolling again..

ST sales still trickling along if the eticketing sales map is correct with various blocks slowly greying out. Family blocks now nearly sold out as far as ST's concerned with just eight seats showing as available . Of course the club may have held back some seats in these family blocks for member sales something they are not clear about.

Trolling ? I’ve just stated the numbers. The 700 figure was posted by the club itself ? can’t remember where but was 100 % posted. When the window closed for local residents they posted on twitter the left over would go to waiting list.

As said i’m Pretty sure that 4.3k for local residents that weren’t taken went to the waiting list. So it was probably something like 6-7 k that went to the waiting list which means uptake hasn’t been bad at all . Ultimately we will sell 47k ST plus 8k premium packages.
