So many of you idiot fans calling for his head forget how good Berbatov was for us last season!

Yes, he's having a difficult season but that no reason to "sell him in January and bring back King Kanoute"

Kanoute scored 21 and assisted 7 goals in 73 appearances in his 2 seasons at Spurs. Berba scored 23 and assisted 15 in 43 games last season, as well as his 2 goals and 4 assists in 12 this season!

ALTOGETHER -

Kanoute Record is 73 games - Goals 21 Assists 7
Berbatov Record is 55 games - Goals 25 Assists 19

Not bad for a sulky out of form piece of **** eh?

Berba is TWICE the player Kanoute is and half of you idiots are living in fantasy wanting to swap the two.

ramos got the best out of kanoute at sevilla and i expect him to get the best out of him again ! There is no question about it Berba is a better player by miles, but he is a lazy shit who doesnt play for the shirt and has a very bad attitude to! For me what he did at Newcastle was disgusting and for that i would not want him in my team!

I like Berba, But I love my football club

Having that man run gingerly around the pitch for 90 minutes looking copmpletely uninterested is disrespectful and an embaressment to our club

Plus what does it look like to other potential Top players that we want to attract to the club, when the one world class player that do already have is in the media everyday with specualtion about him being unhappy and running home to tell Daddy

Disrespectful, end of,

Cash in, by a decent left winger and a proper def Midfielder

I thought I was the only one who was thinking this, I agree .... sell him.

His heart is not a Spurs, at some point he will become disgruntled and possibly upset the dressing room. I say cash him in.

I didnt think THAT many people had been saying this.

I agree with you, I would prefer Ramos to make the most of Berba and I think he can.

I would like to think the whole 'Berba having a strop' thing is based on him not being settled under a underminded manager. When you dont have structure around you it is sometimes difficult to focus.

I was thinking the same thing, except perhaps the dressing room already WAS unsettled, hence the performances....?

Even last season when he was doing well his attitude sucked and it seems to have got worse this season. I don't beleive all the press hype but his body language at Newcastle spoke reams about what he is thinking.

Dimitar Berbatov's Spurs future appeared even less certain last night after his father claimed the Bulgarian ace wants to quit White Hart Lane.

Berbatov held talks with Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli on Monday in a bid to clarify his position at the club.

Tottenham maintain that Berbatov is committed to the club and new boss Juande Ramos and that he has a long-term contract. But that stance appeared to be contradicted after the forward's father, Ivan flew to London after telling Bulgarian television that his son did not want to stay in north London.

Berbatov senior said: "My son doesn't feel happy at Tottenham any more. He wants to leave."

The striker's father and the player's agent, Emil Dantchev, then left Sofia to fly to London for more talks with Spurs hierarchy.

Sources close to the striker added: "Dimitar is telling everybody that he doesn't want to stay and would like to leave in January.

"He feels that he made a mistake in the summer by not asking the club to sell him when Manchester United were interested."

Berbatov was left out of the starting side at Middlesbrough on Saturday, although he came on in the second period.

This is in another thread.

Sort of underlines things if true. there are no reasons wehy he wants to leave though. Making a mistake for what reason? He has quoted previously he loves the club?

Good post. A lot of people seem to believe everything they read in the papers. last season he got off to a slow start and it has happened again this season. Spurs player of the year last season and rightly so, his solo display against Bolton was out of this world. If you want to achieve you dont sell your best players and he is one of the two world class players we have.

Would you rather we played like a Championship side then? Without the class, but with everyone just fighting?

Flair players don't always have the work rate to match the players without, because often they don't need it. In this case I would say Berbatov definitely does not, and I'm perfectly happy with the way he plays. You need a mix of these kind of players. As it goes Tottenham have often just had flair players, but not any fighters. I'd like to us to get in a central midfielder or two who fights, but I damn sure don't want to see a team full of them. It's not the team I support. I don't support West Brom. I support Tottenham.

Just because the report says his Dad said it doesn't mean it's true, the fact is people have wised up to reports quoting agents or blokes down the pub so they have come up with his dad, if his dad says it then it must be true but why believe that his dad said it at all?
It was in the Mirror so I'll choose to ignore it as it's more likely to be a lie than the truth.

True or false I never accept what the Mirror says.

BTW if Kanoute ever came back it would be as a back up striker not to replace Berbatov.

If it is true then maybe the board isn't so daft and wants to replace him before he is allowed to go hence keeping Defoe and bringing in Bent.
