Even if all the above were true you have to wait and see how he adapts to the league. Walker has been the best RB in the league for 2 years now and while SA seems to have all the tools to be a huge hit let's see how he goes in his first season. There's plenty of players who have been great abroad but have struggled. I don't think SA will but I think it's a bit disrespectful to Walker to say he's not even in the same league.

That just shows how poor the standard of right backs in the Prem has been. Walker is a good player and has pace to burn which he uses well to make up for his deficiencies. As Col_M says above, his constant stop, check back and wait, drove me fucking mad! He lacked the ability to deliver a first time ball. Great having all that pace but then wastes the yards made by not crossing it first time. If Aurier can deliver an accurate first time ball he's already got Walker beat in attack, we already know he's fast as fuck.

You can say something bad that all our players do, though. Hugo's distribution can be poor, Rose's crossing can be weak, Kane can be selfish, Eriksen sometimes doesn't impose himself enough, Dembele can be slow in transition etc etc. That doesn't mean that they're average players and it also ignores the overwhelming amount of positive things that they do for us. Including Walker last season. The guy was a beast in defence and scares his opposite numbers in attack, yeah he has weaknesses yes he had poor games but show me any of our players who don't.

I agree.
Wossat? Why are you in a black and blue box headed up with a hazard sign? Is is some kind of warning to Herc, Trix, JJ, etc.? Is it a warning that you can't be trusted? ;) What next? Black and blue boxes with "poison" and "flamable" signs?

Maybe it's being lost in translation but I'm struggling to see what's funny about this chant

Nothing's funny about it. And, while I rarely, if ever, dislike a post, I will be doing that on the one that posted this. There's no place for it and spreading it around is just as bad as creating it.

This isn't aimed at you, more the person who posted it on twitter

This is my only fear with this signing that this kind of laddish "banter" is somewhat legitimised

I'm on board with the signing but it takes responsibility from our fanbase to not go down that road of thinking 'faggot' is an alright term to joke about

Maybe I'm just being a killjoy

Ye people's first mistake is to think I I agree with it! I only saw it on twitter and wondered if people had seen the same.

The chant clearly won't catch on and if anyone does want to sing it, then I'd be surprised if they actually had the balls to start it.

Watching Walker for England the other day and I thought it looked like he'd gone backwards already. Hard to tell though playing under Southgate though obviously but he did make a few mistakes.

Yep. Think he'll be an absolute monster for us. On the pitch and in the changing room.

Seems like he's a bit of a character in the dressing room too, which I think some of our players need. Dele for example has looked fed up so far this season. Getting a guy like Aurier in who is a bit of a joker can only help keep up a light hearted atmosphere. Something I think our players respond well too. When they are too uptight we are never as good as we've seen so far this season.

Watched him today for Ivory Coast. He's defo trickier than Walker. Better hips.....not as straight line fast as Walker but turns, swerves quicker.....he goes quickly into attack mode. He's not a FB who can help out with the attack. He's more of an attacker that can defend. Much more of a wing back than FB. The only possible negative will be his tendency attempt to beat defenders with the dribble or a clever pass....he will get caught out a few times but it should be a good trade for when it comes off. He will definitely help make our offense a bit more dynamic than Walker or Trippier. He plays much more like Danny than Walker but he's a bit more skillful than either. Those are my impressions anyway.

Part of it is he does doesn't have class around him with England. Yeah Poch got the best out of him but he also surrounded him with class that could help cover any mistakes he made. I'm not saying he isn't a good player but for me Rose is a far better FB than Walker.
